Veterinary Director Dr James Holder and his team are delighted to welcome you to our newly renovated practice. Located conveniently on the busy Stirling Highway (just 600m down the road from City Farmers), we offer a comprehensive range of professional veterinary services to cater for all your pet care needs, ranging from preventative health care and weight loss programs through to diagnostic imaging and orthopedic surgery.

We are committed to offering you and your pet exceptional service and the very best in veterinary medicine.

Puppy Classes Now Available!

Our team are passionate about developing well-mannered family friendly dogs and our Best Behaviour program will give you the tools to train your dog in basic manners.

Our classes will also give you an understanding of how your puppy learns, their development stages and how to navigate through naughty puppy behaviours right through to well-mannered canines.

Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Dentistry

Ruby Mischok

Ruby Mischok

Client Care Coordinator

Ruby, our Client Care Coordinator, started with us in 2023. She has a Certificate II in Animal Care and is hoping to expand on this in the future. Ruby enjoys spending her time with her three cats, Misty, Teddy and Sooty. Otherwise, she is making the most of the sunshine by swimming at her local beach, or exploring Australia’s beautiful scenery.

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Tyler is an enthusiastic and outgoing animal lover who is delighted to be working as a trainee nurse at our amazing clinic. She is super eager to expand her knowledge in the veterinary industry and to further get to know all of the furry faces that come into Nedlands!

In her spare time, Tyler loves to take her Golden Retriever Zeus and her Labradoodle Luna on walks around the river or on an exciting day to the beach. Apart from spending 90% of her spare time with her pooches, you will find Tyler either at the beach going for a snorkel, out on her family’s boat at Rottnest, working up a sweat in the gym or playing/coaching netball.

Tyler will be a fully qualified veterinary nurse at the end of 2023 and we can’t wait for her to continue her veterinary nursing journey with us!

Dr James Holder

Dr James Holder

Veterinary Director

James has extensive experience in the veterinary industry, graduating from the University of Bristol (UK) in 1998. After working in a number of small animal practices throughout England, James made the move to Shanghai, China in 2002 where he managed two clinics. During this time he worked as the Medical Director for Second Chance Animal Aid (SCAA), a private non-profit organisation committed to protecting and improving the health and welfare of companion animals through education, healthcare, advocacy, outreach, adoption and the promotion of foster care, as an alternative approach to traditional shelters.

At the end of 2013, he and his family moved to Perth, where he is able to continue his interest in all aspects of veterinary practice particularly ophthalmology , preventative healthcare, orthopaedics and behaviour.

When he is not in the clinic, you will find him playing rugby for UWA, going to Fame Trivia quizzes, walking his dogs Apollo and Timmy and enjoying the beaches of WA..

Dr. Rachael Hayes

Dr. Rachael Hayes

Veterinarian

Dr. Rachael is from County Cork in Ireland and qualified from University College Dublin in 2016. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Devon in the Southwest of England where she spent over a year working in small animal practice. She then moved home to Cork and spent four years working in various small animal veterinary roles before joining the Greencross Vets Nedlands team.

Rachael has a professional interest in soft tissue surgery and loves a challenging medical case. While working as a small animal vet, she also had the opportunity to treat local wildlife. This has been a particular interest of Rachael’s since she rescued an injured hedgehog named Marvin who now lives in her back garden!

Outside of work, Rachael loves to spend time reading or walking on the beach with her two cocker spaniels, Maggie and Lucy. She also loves to travel and will use any opportunity she can to explore new places while meeting people along the way. Rachael is very excited to move to Australia and start a new adventure while also expanding her experience as a veterinarian.

Practice Manager

Having moved to Australia seven years ago, Harriet embarked on a career in the veterinary industry, qualifying as a Registered Vet Nurse. She has been working as the Practice Manager alongside Dr James Holder and the team at Greencross for 3 years. She has a love for animals big or small with a special fondness for Terriers, sparked by the love of her childhood Border Terrier, Harley.

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Stephanie joined Greencross Vets as a student in 2020, she has joined our team as an animal attendant/trainee nurse and will be a qualified veterinary nurse at the end of 2021.
Stephanie’s passion for caring for animals began at a young age, as her family ran a wildlife shelter from home, she enjoys any animal that wants a pat and a cuddle.
In Steph’s free time, she likes to spend time at the beach with her dog Sisco and rock climbing at a pet friendly centre.

Abby McGougan

Abby, our Senior Veterinary Nurse, has been part of the Greencross Vets family for 9 years and has been with the Nedlands team since 2017. Abby’s passion for wildlife and conservation led her to veterinary nursing and she can often be found rearing a feathered friend. In her spare time Abby enjoys travelling and scuba diving.

Ellie Eastwood

Ellie Eastwood

Ellie is our senior pet stylist and veterinary nurse. We welcomed her to our team on opening in 2016.

Her journey into the veterinary industry commenced in 2006. Since then she has qualified as veterinary nurse as well as unleashing her creative side by branching out into the world of pet grooming. Ellie finds much joy in the styling and maintenance of dogs. She has a keen eye for attention to detail and a gentle, calming nature towards the animals in her care. She will work with each client individually to ensure your pet looks the way you envision and love.
We thoroughly enjoy having Ellie as a valued member of our team.
