AEC Moorabbin is busier than ever, and an exciting new position has opened up for a permanent full-time Emergency Veterinarian. An attractive salary package including five weeks annual leave, one week CE leave, financial CE support, access to Plumbs on line and a VIN membership will be offered to the right candidate and although the position is for a full time employee, for the right person part-time hours may be negotiable. We have all ‘the machines that go PING’ including; digital radiographs, in house bloods (CBC, biochemistry, blood gases, PT/APTT), a MyLAB30 gold ultrasound and a VIVID3 cardiac ultrasound, 3 ventilators (a Puritan Bennet and 2 iVent life support) humidicribs, an oxygen generator, a spacious surgery, a defibrillator and both Surgivet and DASH cage side monitors.
Our patients are commonly insured, and owners are willing to pursue the gold standard of treatment. We have an extensive library of protocols to support you, however critical and lateral thinking and treating each case individually is highly encouraged. We have visiting cardiologists, internal medicine ultra sonographers and a close relationship with both ECC, surgical and internal medicine specialists.
You will be encouraged to develop an interest in ultrasound, trauma, toxicology and surgery. Practical and theoretical education is strongly encouraged through in house tutorials, webinars, mentoring programs memberships and fellowships.
If you would like to work in a large emergency centre, with a low staff turn-over AEC Moorabbin might be the right fit for you. Work with educated and experienced nurses with advanced diplomas who are capable of becoming your extra right hand.
Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of Veterinary experience and while Emergency experience and willingness to obtain memberships is desired, we will provide training and mentorship for those Vets from General Practice who wish to join us in Emergency.
