Maddie Kanisauskas

Veterinary Nurse

Maddie has always had a strong love of animals, growing up with dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. She was always rescuing some animal from her next door neighbour and somehow would always convince her parents to let her keep it so it became the family joke that they were living on Noah’s Ark. Maddie has an interest in anesthetics and emergencies. When she is not loving on your animals here, she is busying running around at home after her crazy husky Hunter and her sweet kelpie Okie.

Leo Compton

Veterinary Nurse

Leo grew up locally in Adelaide with his large family of four brother, and spend most of his free time with his beloved pets in the backyard. His love for animals started from a very young age with his first water dragon; ever since he has had many reptiles, a few large breeds of dogs, and everything in between!
Recently finishing his Advanced Diploma in Animal Technology, Leo wishes to further his studies to advance his knowledge in all animal related fields.
Outside of work Leo spends his spare time at the gym and with his ginger kitty Manny and Jesse the Border Collie.

Dr Cassie Francisco

Veterinarian

Dr Cassie graduated from University of Adelaide in 2015 as a veterinarian and then relocated to the UK for two years developing her skills by working at a variety of veterinarian clinics. Cassie then returned back home and locumed around NSW and SA. She then decided settle in Adelaide and joined the Greencross Vets family in 2020.

At home, Cassie is a pet mum to my behavioural nightmare of a cat Chumby.

Jessica Leaney

Veterinary Nurse

Jess has been working in the animal care industry for a decade and is now one of our senior veterinary nurses at Greencross Vets Holden Hill. She has completed a Diploma in Animal Technology and a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and continues to develop her education, currently studying a Diploma in Vet Nursing.

Professionally, Jess is interested in dental treatments, anaesthesia and pathology. She is very passionate about nursing cats and is a self-confessed ‘cat-lady’. At home, she is pet parent to three cats of her own named Toulouse, Koda and Belle. She still has plenty of love left for dogs, and especially loves big, burly type breeds.

Olivia Leadbeater

Veterinary Nurse

Olivia started at Greencross Vets Para Vista as a work placement student, whilst working towards her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, she was offered a permanent position with the practice shortly after she completed her studies and has been working with us ever since!

She lives on a hobby farm with her partner, son, two kelpies (Bundy and Dusty), three horses (Jeddah, Rhyley and Ellie) and multiple chickens, sheep and alpacas. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horses, camping and spending time with friends.

Dr Richard Duffield

Veterinary Director

Richard was born in Adelaide and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2015 with his Bachelor of Veterinary Bioscience and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Richard joined the Greencross Vets team over five years ago. He has a passion for small animal medicine, exotic/pocket pet medicine, the human-animal bond and a special interest in both freshwater and marine aquaria.

In his spare time, Richard enjoys spending time with his friends and family, restoring vintage cars, playing with his Labrador (Stella) and cat (Mittens), and caring for his tropical fish.
