Dr. Lisa Butler

Veterinary Director

Ever since she was old enough to answer the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” her answer was “To be a veterinarian”. Dr. Lisa achieved this dream in December 2002 after graduating from the University of Queensland and started working at Greencross Mudgeeraba just two days later – that’s 20 years at this clinic!

Dr. Lisa, enjoys life as a small animal veterinarian, and has a strong interest in small animal medicine and surgery and is currently expanding her knowledge of Veterinary Ophthalmology via distance education with the University of Sydney.
At home, she is a mother to three boys – Patrick, Andrew and Henry – who keep her busy outside of work. On the weekends they love spending time exploring the outdoors with bushwalks, mountain bike rides or kayaking up the local waterways. Maggie her Labradoodle loves the bushwalks and is getting her sea-legs, however Banjo our cat prefers to stay home.

Dr. Alexa Lee

Veterinarian

Dr. Alexa graduated from the University of Queensland in 2020 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Hons) and is originally from Brisbane, She decided a change of scenery was in order and relocated to the beautiful Gold Coast and that’s when she joined the Greencross Vets Mudgeeraba family. She loves meeting person that enters the clinic and their fur babies. Speaking of which, she has three of her own: a border collie named Bobby, another border collie who is blind called Stevie and a ginger manx called Moët.
When she is not in the clinic, she can be found at the beach with her dogs or enjoying a hike or two. She also openly welcomes any good food recommendations in the Gold Coast.

Tamsyn Prati

Hi, my name is Tamsyn and I am your friendly receptionist at Greencross Mudgeeraba. I have a Diploma of Applied Science in Equine Studies from UQG with a background in bookkeeping and sales. I have two beautiful daughters, two very active border collies, six birds (and counting) and ragdoll cat who rules the house. I’m very happy to have joined the team here at Mudgeeraba and look forward to meeting your furry family members.

Krystal Clayton

“Hi my name is Krystal and for as long as I can remember I have always had a strong passion for helping care for animals. I am thankful to have a permanent part time position here at Greencross Mudgeeraba where I continue to grow and learn whilst meeting you – our clients and taking care of your fur babies.
I am also a Mum of 3. In order of arrival Milo, my Tibetan spaniel X Chihuahua, my daughter Mia and then came Charlie, my beautiful German Shepard X Husky. We also have added 2 Guinea Pigs Louis and Gucci, and a pond full of Goldfish”

Nic Burnett

I grew up on the Gold Coast and have always had a love for animals. I started in the animal industry and gained skills by volunteering at a local wildlife hospital. I was then fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to work with domestic animals at the Mudgeeraba Greencross in 2012. Through this, I decided Veterinary Nursing was the path I wanted to follow. In 2013 I officially joined the awesome Mudgeeraba team and am currently studying my Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing.

Ryleigh Kannar

My name is Ryleigh and I have just recently completed my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and I am thoroughly enjoying working at Greencross Vets in Mudgeeraba as a vet nurse. I have also completed chemistry and mathematics subjects at the University of Queensland in Brisbane.

I spent most of my childhood on a farm surrounded by many domestic pets and wildlife and have a great love and connection with animals and it is a pleasure to work with them every day. I have dreams of gaining specialised skills with wildlife caring and nursing and still aspire to pursue a veterinary science degree in the future

Sarah Lindenberg

My name is Sarah Lindenberg and I am a certificate IV Veterinary Nurse at Mudgeeraba. I have been working at Mudgeeraba for 8 years starting out as a volunteer worker and further down the track studying my nursing degree. I absolutely love animals and couldn’t imagine doing anything else as a career. In the future I hope to travel and work in a company called vets beyond borders. I have two furry children 🙂 Narla is a 2 year old spoodle and Millie is a 5 year old Bichon x poodle. I love my job and I would suggest this carer path to anyone interested in working with animals.

Wendy Verhulsdonk

My name is Wendy, I have called Greencross Mudgeeraba my home away from home since 1997. Not only do I work with a wonderful dedicated team but over the years I have built up strong relationships with many of our clients and of course their beloved pets . I keep just as busy at home as I do at work with my two boys Seth and Caleb, crazy Staffy Ruby, two cats Stormy and Billy (aka Bad Boy Billy Bob Bentley), and our most recent additions -Lilly and Scratchy, two rats for our boys. I have been very lucky to do a job that I love for so long, and can see many more years ahead.

Dr Jamie Mulcahy BVSc (Hons)

Dr Jamie Mulcahy graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 1996. He started work at the Mudgeeraba Animal Hospital in the same year and has been there ever since. Jamie is interested in all soft tissue surgery as well as internal medicine. He is a passionate advocate for patient health and well being as well as client health and well-being.

Dr Lisa Butler BVSc (Hons)

I enjoy life as a small animal veterinarian, and have strong interest in radiology and ultrasound. I have completed a post-graduate course in diagnostic imaging and would love to conquer cardiac ultrasound in the near future. I also have my AQIS export vet accreditation which allows me to help families relocate their pets overseas. I am a mother to twin boys Patrick and Andrew who were born in 2009, and also have twin male Jack Russells named Walter and Eddie. With all this testosterone in my household I am really longing for a female cat or dog to help restore some balance!

Jenny Stevens

I joined Mudgeeraba Animal Hospital in June 1996, starting as the hospitals surgical nurse. I knew while at school this is what I wanted to do and now I am still with the Mudgeeraba family. Since starting as surgical nurse, I have in that time had 2 wonderful girls Brooke and Emily who attend the local Mudgeeraba School. Mudgeeraba is a wonderful place to be we are a team of very local vets and nurse who enjoy what we do and where we live. In 2008 I came back full time and have taken on the role of Practice Manager and would not have it any other way, I love what I do and enjoy see the family of pets and owners at the local shops and schools. We at Mudgeeraba pride ourselves in what we do and I feel we have the best vets and nurses on the Gold Coast, and we would love you to join our family. At home I have a wonderful a tabby cat Stevie and Norman a Norwich Terrier.

Mikala Foster

Hi, my name is Mikala Foster. I have been a Veterinary Nurse for 15 years, starting out in Sydney than Melbourne and now finally my family and I call the Gold Coast home. We moved here in 2013 and I have been lucky enough to join the wonderful Mudgeeraba team. At home we have two Huskies, Tazz and Misty, and our newest edition is a 3 year old tabby cat called Leo! I also have two young boys at home to keep me on my toes, together we enjoy camping and boating in the beautiful outdoors that surround us.
