Meet The Team
Carly has been with the Greencross Vets Redbank Plains team since early 2015 as their receptionist and has recently begun her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing. Having worked with animals since she was young, both in Australia and in England, Carly would like to eventually work with wildlife and conservation. Carly currently shares her home with three rescue kitties: Maggie (short for Magdalene), who was rescued as a 9-month old from a drain at the local high school with her three babies; Primrose (“Prim”), who was part of a litter of four dumped at the clinic along with her sister Dotti, who suffers from a few very interesting conditions, including scoliosis!
Rachel has been part of the team since 2008 after graduating from a Bachelor of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She is also a Cert IV qualified Nurse who has an interest in Canine Reproduction and Dentistry. She likes spending time at home with her three dogs, two cats, three galahs, seven indian ringnecks, seven chooks and a quail and her 12 goldfish! She loves going camping and fishing with her husband and daughters. Her favourite part of the job is assisting in orthopaedics and caesarean sections.
Erin completed her Cert 4 in Veterinary nursing in 2004. She was trained as an emergency and critical care nurse, where she worked for 11 years in a specialist and supervisory role providing after hours and emergency care 24/7 in Sydney. During this time she completed her diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care). In 2012, Erin went onto study a Bachelor of science (Biodiversity and Conservation) at Macquarie University in NSW. After getting the travel itch and wanting to do some good in the world, Erin ran off to Thailand where she lived and worked with multiple charity NGO’s on the Thai islands for a for a year and a few months each year since 2012, providing veterinary care to stray/street/beach dogs, cats and the occasional monkey! She has a keen interest in toxicology, emergency & critical care, medicine, wildlife and all things marine. Erin is currently owned by 3 cats Josie(13), Jimmy(18) and Mowse(12), a very cheeky rainbow lorikeet and a beautiful rescue dog.
From a young age Holly always knew she wanted to be in the veterinary industry. When a traineeship arose in high school to work in a Greencross clinic as well as complete a cert II in Animal studies throughout year 12, Holly jumped at the chance. She completed her cert II and finished year 12 at the same time. Whilst doing the cert II, Holly worked with Greencross Vet Camira two days a week during year 12. Then 2 weeks after completing year 12, she got a full time job at Greencross Vet Silkstone and started her cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. Holly cares greatly for the well being of all animals and wants to help at any chance she gets. She owns 2 very different dogs name Honey (Irish wolfhound x) and Marley (Maltese x Shih Tzu).
Keira graduated from University of Queensland in 2011 with a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Veterinary Technology. During her time at university and shortly after graduating, she worked in a mixed animal practice in Gatton where she gained all her basic skills and training. However her love of all things equine pushed her into an Equine nursing position at UQ Equine hospital for four years. Keira has recently come back to small animal nursing to refresh and extend her knowledge in her key interest areas of surgical nursing and anesthesia. In her spare time Keira enjoys riding her two horses and attempting to get back to competing in showjumping. Keira shares her home with two cats, Samira and Minxy, and two dogs Turbo and Tia with which she also enjoys training in obedience and agility.
