Laboratory Testing

The latest in-house laboratory equipment allows our vets to perform a range of diagnostic tests to achieve accurate, rapid diagnosis of your pets’ health status.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Greencross Vets clinics are equipped with high-quality radiograph equipment including X-ray machines, automatic processors, and X-ray view equipment.

Clinical Pathology

Clinical pathology allows our vets to analyse and diagnose health conditions. Common laboratory tests include blood tests, urinalysis, faecal tests and biopsy examination.

Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Veterinary Associate

Ana is one of our senior vets at the clinic who has been working for Greencross since graduating in 2017. She is from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago but completed her study for both of her degrees in the United Kingdom at the university of Bristol where she was awarded with the prize for best patient care. Like most vets, from a young age Ana was always surrounded by all different types of animals and so her passion for animals started young. Growing up in a third world country where animal welfare and medical standards weren’t always top notch means that she is very passionate about alleviating animal suffering and utilising all the tools and knowledge Greencross has to offer to come to the best outcome for her patients and clients. Ana is a dog mum to her very energetic 12 year old kelpie x rottie called Rocky and in her spare time loves fishing, camping and being by the ocean. Her favourite areas of her work are surgery and emergency and critical care.

Veterinary Nurse/ Practice Manager

Abby grew up in North West NSW around animals her entire life, she moved to the Gold Coast in 2013 where she took passion for animals and turned it into a career. She has been a veterinary nurse for many year and shared her life with her fur babies Zharlee the Rottweiler, Milo the Kelpie and Fish, my rescue cat. In her spare time, she loves gardening and adventuring out with her little family.

Tess has been in the industry since late 2019 and obtained her Certificate IV in 2021. She has always had a passion for helping animals and making sure that every animal that walks through the clinic doors is treated like her own. Tess lives with her partner and her rescue kitty cat Jax! In her spare time, she loves surfing, going to the gym and travelling.

Jasmin completed an internship obtaining a Certificate 2 in Animal Studies with Greencross, and then employed as a Vet Nurse. She currently is working towards her Certificate IV. Her favourite things working as a vet nurse are specialist surgeries and complex hospital cases. She is a fur mum to her three staffies Busta, Bella & Daisy

Alisha changed careers at a later stage in life to follow her dream of working with animals.
After many years of running a photography business and caring for her family. It was time for Alisha to chase her passion. Greencross Vets Tweed Heads kindly took Alisha on for work experience whilst completing her Certificate IV in 2021. Alisha is now employed with them and has finished all formal qualifications .
Alisha is married and a mummy to two teenagers & of course a fur baby. When Alisha is not in the clinic caring for our furry friends she is out exploring in her caravan making memories with her family.

Veterinary Nurse

Denee moved up from Sydney with her family when she was ten and loves living on the Gold Coast. She achieved her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2019 and is passionate about providing the best patient care. When she is not at work you will find her caring for her own fur baby Mishkah the terrier and her three snakes! To relax Denee enjoys getting crafty with all sorts of art and craft projects and keeping fit.

Associate Veterinarian

Dr Tim Harris grew up on the southern Gold Coast in a household filled top to bottom with pets. His love for animals has been lifelong, and takes a great sense of pride in being a Veterinarian. Dr Harris, has been working with Greencross Vets as a small animal veterinarian since for over seven years. He says, “It is a pleasure to be working with the team at Tweed Heads, as we all share the same passion for providing the best possible outcomes for all of our patients.”

His home is ruled by a mischievous three-legged cat called Moomoo and Harry, a very energetic border collie cross. Dr Harris, understands the bond between owners and pets, and his goal is to try and take care of every one of his patients as if they were his own.
