Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Dentistry

Meet The Team

Christie Haliday

Christie Haliday

Veterinarian

Christie is a recently graduated veterinarian from New Zealand. She studied at Massey University and had a special interest in pet nutrition and surgery. Christie joined the Greencross team in 2023 and loves educating new pet owners, and really focuses on making the clinic environment as stress-free as possible for nervous patients. She has a highly-strung border collie of her own, Finn, and is enjoying all that Melbourne has to offer.

Veterinary Nurse

Simonne has always wanted to work with animals and began her animal care journey as a secondary and university student working on weekends for a Vet owned boarding kennels and cattery for over a decade. After completing school she was accepted into Swinburne University – School of Design to study Art (Graphic Design) and continued for 16 years working in the advertising and printing industry, as well as casually in veterinary clinics. Simonne took a break from work to have a family and started volunteering for RSPCA in 2010. She has always had a passion for animals and in late 2017 began the Greencross Internship Program at Greencross Springvale and attained the Certificate II in Animal Studies. Following on from this, in 2019 she started at Greencross Stud Park and completed the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing early 2021.
Simonne is married with three children and has two Golden Retrievers, Eddie and Cleo, a ginger and white Tabby Cat, Buddy, a Mini Lop Dwarf Rabbit, Coco and a Budgie, Pluto. Her interests include, tennis, art and freelance Graphic Design, weekend sports and walking the Goldies.

Kara joined Greencross in October 2020 as a Trainee Veterinary Nurse and qualified in 2021 where she started her journey and joined the Greencross Vets Team at Stud Park in 2022 as a full time Veterinary Nurse. Kara has worked on farms, stables, in Emergency and general practice clinics and has a passion for laboratory studies. She has many pets of her own including a horse, two dogs, a cat and a small aquarium (Diablo, Vedder, Harlem & Lord Elwood). In her own time Kara competes in Horse Competitions and loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys every aspect of the veterinary industry and hopes to one day become a vet.

Veterinarian

Growing up in Singapore, Cheryl loved volunteering in the animal shelters and the zoo and pursued a career in Veterinary medicine thereafter. Dr. Cheryl Tan graduated from Murdoch University in Western Australia in 2020. She has worked in small animal and large animal veterinary practice, animal shelter, and in emergency centres in Victoria. Cheryl spends her free time playing badminton, cycling, watching movies, and looking after her two pets, a German shepherd, and a guinea pig.

Cameron Kirwood

Veterinary Nurse

Cameron has loved pets all his life. From his childhood growing up with birds, dogs, cats, and yabbies, to now living on a small family farm with ducks, chickens, sheep, llamas, dogs, cats, and an aviary of small parrots, as well as his personal cats, Cinnamon and Beany. Cameron completed his Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing through Greencross, specializing in avian medicine and has been part of the Stud Park team since early 2020 where he especially enjoys the challenges of emergencies and caring for wildlife.

When he’s not in his scrubs, he’s working on his motorbike, volunteering with the SES, and preparing for the challenges of impending first-time parenthood!

Ebony is a qualified vet nurse with experience in both emergency and general practice clinics across the Greencross network. Joining the Stud Park team in 2023, Ebony strives to provide the best care for all animals & their families and has a special interest in emergency care and pet nutrition. When she is not at work, Ebony loves spending time at the gym or on the couch with her many fur-babies (Cleo, Violet and Bonnie).

Practice Manager

Kelly started her veterinary nursing career in 1997, progressing into a senior role in 2005 and completed her Diploma in Practice Management in 2007. During this period of time, Kelly has remained at the same Greencross Vets clinic along with becoming Practice Manager at Greencross Vets Stud Park also. It goes without saying Kelly has a unique and strong bond with the clinic, staff, clients and, plays an instrumental role in ensuring our patients feel safe and comfortable.
At home, she has two very active and adventurous Bengals named ‘Lia’ and ‘Benjamin’ and a rescued Persian named Evie, who loves to spend her days sleeping in late & guarding the bed until mum comes home.

Dr Samantha Cheong graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2007. She joined Greencross Stud Park in 2008 and her special interests include small animal internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Samantha is married and lives with her husband Andrew. They absolutely adore their dog Charlotte and their very smart and determined bunny, Jessica. Samantha loves cooking, travelling and is always on the lookout for good food!

Jerina started her vet nursing career in 2014 in a small family run clinic, she completed her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing in 2016. Jerina joined the Stud Park family in 2017 where she was welcomed and continued growing her experience and knowledge. Jerina holds a keen interest in surgical nursing and will continue developing that throughout her career. In her spare time Jerina does Thai boxing for fitness, she loves to read and spend her time with her partner and their brood of animals.

Kirsty has been nursing for almost two decades. She gained her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2012 and has been head nurse at Greencross Stud Park since 2010. Kirsty has a keen interest in medical and surgical nursing with a special interest in the feline patient. She also loves to foster orphaned kittens finding them loving new homes through Stud Park’s adoption program. In her spare time, Kirsty enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, shopping and AFL footy. She has four cats of her own called Flossy, Denzee, Simon and Pixie, all of which she hand reared from only a few days old. Having this many cats has also lovingly earned her the title of “crazy cat lady”!

In between starting a family, Rachael has accumulated nearly 10 years of nursing experience. Rachael’s special interests include animal behaviour and cytology. She has a Staffy named Murphy and a Jack Russell Terrier named Tinks. They also live with her British Shorthair named Benny and Domestic Shorthair named Twix.

Sam has been veterinary nursing for over 15 years, spending time between general practice and emergency and critical care. She is passionate about excellent clinic standards and patient care and is always striving to make our clients and their furry companions feel valued and well looked after. At home Sam has a young animal loving family, and a menagerie of rescued animals to keep her very busy, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. In her spare time *insert laughs here* she enjoys camping with her family, cooking and fostering critters in need.

Donna has been professionally grooming for over three decades, both in veterinary clinics and with her own business. Donna has been grooming at Greencross Vets since 1997 and has seen many great changes in her time at the clinic. She has many animals at home including goats, sheep, chickens and her gorgeous Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Izzy.

Associate Veterinarian

Growing up in north-west Queensland, Andrew developed a keen interest in animals which lead him to veterinary medicine. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 1992 and worked for a couple of years back home before moving to Melbourne, where he has family. Over the past two decades he has worked in a variety of different practices gaining a large range of experience. He has been at Greencross Stud Park for over a decade. Andrew has a broad range of interests in small animal medicine and surgery but recently has been developing his diagnostic ultrasound skills. On a personal note, he has an 8-year-old Jack Russell terrier cross and enjoys movies, socialising with friends and renovating his house.

Kate graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006, spending the following decade years developing skills in small animal practice in Specialty and Emergency Victoria. She has just recently joined the team at Greencross Stud Park and is enjoying getting to know the local clients and their pets! She loves the variety of veterinary medicine and the opportunity to always continue learning. Home is a full house of two children, Zeus her German Shepherd and two adoption failure cats Midas and Dash.

After graduating with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2000, Prue first gained experience in a mixed equine and small animal clinic in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs. Wanting to develop her small animal medicine and surgery skills further, Prue joined the team at Stud Park in 2002 as a Veterinary Associate, and became Veterinary Director in 2008. Over the past thirteen years at Stud Park, Prue really values the many great relationships she has formed with her clients and their pets. She has a special interest in stem cell therapy and was the first vet in Victoria to perform this therapy for the treatment of arthritis in dogs. On a personal note, Prue loves everything sport, particularly netball, and runs regularly with her Jack Russell training partner Lizzie.
