Throughout the recruitment process, we aim to match potential team members to the clinic most suited to their location, skills and training. The initial step will be a phone interview with our Recruitment Team to gain a better understanding of what you’re looking for and whether our culture is a good fit. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the opportunities available. Next, you’ll connect with one of our Area Managers or Clinical Team for an interview (face-to-face or via Skype). I’m an overseas-trained veterinarian whose qualifications are recognised in Australia, would Greencross Vets consider sponsoring me?

Yes. Overseas-trained clinicians make up an important part of our network of more than 800 veterinary professionals nationwide. Our Recruitment team can facilitate the visa application process for the right professionals, with the support of qualified Migration Lawyers. Greencross will cover the visa application charges to ensure a smooth transition for you.

As an Emergency Specialist, I want to continue working in this area, but I’d like to pick up some General Practice work. Can Greencross support this?

Absolutely. We have a number of GP locations that are ideal for those transitioning from the Emergency and Specialist arena. We also have Emergency and Specialist vacancies available to clinicians interested in this space.

I’m a veterinary student, what opportunities could I have with Greencross now?

We’re actively engaged in supporting and mentoring new veterinarians and support staff. We have a number of opportunities available to vet students in our veterinary clinics. The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and expertise:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent;
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Nurse;
  • Proven experience in team management, with strong leadership and team building skills, and the ability to provide coaching for team members and to build a positive culture in your team;
  • Experience with Rx works (preferred but not essential);
  • Strong communication and customer service skills;
  • Good business acumen;
  • Exceptional organisation skills.
