The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Performing minor procedures when required;
  • Delivering outstanding client care to all patients and owners;

  • Handling client enquiries professionally in person, by email and over the phone;
  • Administration duties and associated tasks.

Qualities and Expertise

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and expertise:

  • Must possess at least a Cert II in Animal Studies or equivalent, however a Cert IV in Veterinary Nurse is preferred;
  • 2+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Nurse;
  • Excellent phone manner, communication skills & customer service skills;
  • An extensive knowledge and understanding of veterinary nursing procedures;
  • Confidence in monitoring anaesthesia;
  • A calm & friendly professional with a sense of humour;
  • An amazing ‘can do’, team player attitude.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a driven and passionate vet to become part of our fun, supportive and dynamic working environment across both our brand-new Punchbowl clinic and very well-established Mortdale clinic. You will be supported by an experienced and driven team of vets within established and growing clinics.

 

Our Clinics and Teams:

Our Punchbowl clinic is a brand new, purpose-built clinic is co-located within an already existing Petbarn retail store creating a network of highly engaged and committed pet owners and a steady stream of clientele and referrals being directed to our clinic.

As a brand-new purpose-built clinic, Punchbowl will be fully prepared assisting you and your clients with a well-equipped surgical theatre, digital x-ray, iM3 Elite Dental suite, Dental X-ray, in house pathology, separate dog and cat wards and more.

Greencross Mortdale is equally a very established clinic with a great reputation, we are fully equipped with radiology (x-ray), ultrasound, dental x-ray, laser surgery, IM3 dental machines, in house laboratory. Mortdale has 3 consult rooms, we also run a mobile vet service out of Mortdale 3 days a week. We offer all routine surgery and have a CO2 laser available for soft tissue laser surgery, we also offer orthopaedics via a contracted vet.

We have a vet with interest in aquatics and we have a high surgery and clinical caseload. If you like working in a fast-paced clinic with good support, we are the place to be.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Managing the day to day operations of our clinic including: stock management, staff management and rostering, and maintaining client records;
  • Undertaking general nursing tasks, including pre-and post-operative care, animal pathology and emergency and critical care;
  • Leading and developing our team and building a positive team culture;
  • Ensuring that monthly KPI’s are met;
  • Driving our business forward through creating and implementing local marketing initiatives;
  • Delivering outstanding service and care to all patients and owners.

Qualities and Expertise

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Nurse (preferred but not essential);
  • Proven experience in team management;
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills;
  • Experience with Rx works (preferred but not essential);
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Good business acumen;
  • Exceptional organisation and planning skills.
