Sophie's Legacy
A mental health crisis in the veterinary industry is costing lives. Dr. Sophie Putland was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a beloved vet, who tragically took her own life in September 2021. The pressure of the veterinary profession, including client abuse, became overwhelming for her. Family and friends established Sophie’s Legacy to honour her memory and advocate for change within the industry.
Greencross Vets proudly partner with Petbarn Foundation to support Sophie’s Legacy to save the people who save our animals. Profits from all Petbarn Foundation merchandise sold through Greencross Vet clinics in 2025 will go directly to Sophies Legacy.

The Petbarn Foundation
Established in 2012, the Petbarn Foundation has donated over $29m to help animal welfare groups and rescue organisations through Australia, and continues to support thousands of pets, animals and the people who love and care for them every day.
