What is Telemedicine?
Telemedicine is the use of telecommunications technology to provide real-time health care to patients at a distance. We use telemedicine as part of our scheduled, post-consultation health monitoring program, to help us monitor your pet’s post-consultation care from the privacy of your own home and without the need for you to come back to the clinic every time.
Telemedicine is not a replacement to physical examinations but a complementary tool assisting continued pet healthcare.
We are passionate about pets and committed to offering exceptional service, and the very best care in veterinary medicine.
How is Telemedicine delivered?
Telemedicine can be delivered using video-conferencing, audio communication, and/or text-messaging using mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
The Greencross veterinarian in question can decide, based on their understanding of the circumstances at the time, whether we should offer telemedicine, and if so, what telemedicine is appropriate.
A qualified Greencross veterinarian or veterinary nurse conducts each Telemedicine consultation.
Telemedicine consultations are suitable only for certain types of pet healthcare and will be considered on a case-by-case basis by your Greencross vet.
Any patient notes taken during the Telemedicine consultation will be treated the same as if taken within Clinic during a face-to-face consultation.
