Natasha T

Tash has always wanted to do vet work. She had a kitten named Snowy, which she loved dearly, and they grew up together. Snowy was there throughout exams, meltdowns and happy days, and was a big motivator to become a vet nurse.

Passionate about diagnostics and biology, Tash found herself completing a Cert II at Townsville Vet Clinics. After, she got a job as a kennel hand, and then finally began the Cert IV right here, at Greencross Vets. She enjoys every second of it.

One thing they’ll tell you about the job is that it’s never boring!

Alex W

Alex has been a part of our team since February 2022. Alex gained her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2018 and has been nursing for 9 years.

Alex has a passion for nursing critically ill patients back to health as well as caring for all patients in our hospital.

In her free time, Alex enjoys taking her horses Bobby & Mr Ed on trail rides, and camping with her friends and family.

Ashley M

I began my veterinary career as a School Based Trainee at Greencross Vets Willows during high school. From there I continued employment after graduating school and went on to complete my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing while working at Greencross Aitkenvale as the 2IC. I have worked as a Practice Manager at multiple Greencross clinics previously and am currently working as a Veterinary Nurse

I’m very passionate about developing well-mannered family-friendly dogs.

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me spending time with my three fur-babies, a Kelpie cross named Betty who I have had since she was orphaned at two weeks old, Reggie the cat and my giant American Bull Dog cross named Bruce.

Jennifer K

Jennifer has been part of the Greencross Team for 10 years now, completing both her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and Certificate IV in Frontline Management.

Jennifer has recently returned to Townsville with her family after working at Greencross Clinic Campbell town.

At home Jennifer has her hands full with her two sons Riley and Samuel. They enjoy being outdoors and going camping as a family.

Kim G

Throughout my childhood, I lived in various remote communities from WA, NT and North QLD which helped to develop my interest and compassion for animals. I moved to Townsville in 2024 to pursue my career in Vet Nursing. I was thrilled to be offered an internship through Greencross which allowed me to obtain my Cert II.

Outside of the clinic you’ll find me swimming, camping or taking my dog Zorro for walks!

Dr Emily W

Emily developed her love for animals while growing up on a farm in south-west Western Australia. After completing her veterinary degree in Perth, she moved to Mackay for some warm weather and mixed practice. Emily has been in Townsville since 2011 and has worked in a mix of small animal emergency and general practice.

Emily has a passion for connecting with people and enjoys meeting new clients as well has helping the animals. Outside of work Emily spends her free time kitesurfing, gardening and renovating.

Dr Katy B

Dr Katy grew up in Townsville but moved away to Brisbane to study Veterinary Science. After graduating from Queensland University in 1994, Dr Katy moved to Toowoomba and spent 16 years looking after the pets there. Finally the cold got to her and in 2011 she escaped back to sunny North Queensland.

Initially Dr Katy locumed at various practices before joining the Greencross team in 2012. Katy has spent time working at all the Townsville branch clinics, but has spent most at the Deeragun clinic and led the Deeragun team to National Clinic of The Year. In 2016, Katy became the carer for elderly relatives so now only works on a casual basis. Katy thoroughly enjoys meeting new people at each clinic location, however she is mainly now based at the Aitkenvale clinic.

Dr Pooja B

Veterinarian

Dr Pooja has been working as a small animal veterinarian for over 10 years. She enjoys all aspects of the job, especially internal medicine, critical care and behavioural medicine.

She has recently achieved Memberships in Veterinary Behaviour. She looks forward to treating your pets at Greencross Vets Aitkenvale.

Pooja is a pet parent to two dogs – Hamish and Nyx.

Tailah M

Head Veterinary Nurse

Tailah started with Greencross Vets in 2010 as a School Based Trainee and completed my Certificate II in Animal Studies. She fell in love with nursing and went on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Tailah loves all aspects of nursing, but she especially loves critical care and feline medicine. She is very passionate about providing the best level of care for our patients and helping them in every way she and her team can! Tailah is passionate about aspects of nursing, but she especially loves feline medicine and critical care.

At home she is a pet parent to a dog named Renny and two cats, Milko and Kevin

Dr. Leah D

Associate Veterinarian

Leah was born and grew up in Somerset (South West), England before graduating from The Royal Dick Vet College, Edinburgh in 1997. After working in a rural practice for five years, Leah decided that a holiday was in order and spent 12 months working her way around the west coast of Australia. Having enjoyed this experience immensely, Leah decided to make the move permanent in 2003 and has been living in Townsville ever since. Leah enjoys all aspects of veterinary work but especially enjoys surgery, including stifle (knee) repairs, cutaneous reconstruction (skin grafting etc.) and eye repairs of all kinds.

Outside of work Leah enjoys spending time with her cat Cookie Monster. She also enjoy photography and white water kayaking, but her main love though is mountain biking. She loves the sport because it has taken her to many amazing places geographically and mentally, in the past she has completed at the competitions on local, state or national level as well as charity rides.

Julie M

Practice Manager

I grew up in a small town of Ayr and from a very young age I always wanted to work with animals. I started working in a Veterinary practice as a vet nurse when I left school and worked there for eight years full time and then five years part time.

I moved to Townsville with my husband and two children and started working for a business that specialised in Equine Products. It was seven years later that I decided that I wanted to come back to the where my passion is and that is the veterinary industry. I’m excited to be part of the team at Greencross Vets Aitkenvale and look forward to meeting you and your pets.
