Veterinary Nurse

Caillin almost a qualified nurse and is nearing the end of my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing course. As a new vet nurse, Caillin has enjoyed learning new skills and putting them into practice by supporting the vets. Caillin is very passionate about animal care and hopes to get into fostering cats and kittens when she moves into her own home. On long weekends Caillin loves long road trips to new places, and has an obsession with paint by number paintings.

Georgia started off nursing at the clinic whilst undergoing her veterinary degree at the University of Melbourne. She is interested in all aspects of small animal medicine, in particular she is passionate about animal welfare, feline medicine and keeping up with modern therapies. In her spare time Georgia can be found playing with her foster cats or out for a walk with her dog Bella and her cat Jasper.

Elise joined Greencross Vets as an intern in 2019 and completed her Certificate II in animal studies. Now a vet nurse, Elise enjoys coming into work and helping animals in any way possible. You will find Elise taking her adorable 13 year old golden retriever named Cassie to the beach or on long walks.

Claire and I’m currently studying my Certificate 3 in Animals Studies as well as a Bachelor of Veterinary and Wildlife Science. At the end I’m hoping to become a certified veterinary nurse and eventually would like to work in animal conservation. When not at work I enjoy camping with my two Kelpie crosses, Taz and Lucy Mae, or just snuggling up at home with my two cats Alfie and Kora watching Marvel movies.

Isabelle hails from sunny Singapore and came to Australia to chase her dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She recently graduated from Murdoch University in Western Australia, took the leap of faith, and moved across the continent to join the team at Greencross Ashburton. She strives to help owners help their pets to live their best lives and is a firm believer that there is no such thing as a stupid question (so ask away!). She has a special interest in exotic pet medicine and surgery and intends to pursue ANZCVS Memberships in the future.

Dr Matt Miller

Dr Matt Miller

Veterinary Director

Matt is the clinical director at Ashburton and boasts more than 25 years of clinical veterinary experience. He is passionate about all things medicine and surgery, and completed his Memberships in cat and dog medicine in 1995. When he’s not at the clinic offering the best in Veterinary care to your pets, you can find him hanging out with his family including his kids Phoebe and Jett, cheering on the Hawks, or listening to funk music with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Poppins. Matt continually strives to provide the best for his patients and is known for his high level of care for both patients and their human families.

Fiona Rogers

Vet Nurse/Cattery Attendant

Fiona started working in the cattery while she was in school and is now working as a vet nurse. She completed her Bachelor of Science majoring in Zoology at the end of 2017. In her free time she can be found going for long walks with her Australian Shepherd Oscar, volunteering at Healesville Sanctuary or hanging with friends.

Associate Veterinarian

Ilke joined the team in 2018 after graduating with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Melbourne.
She enjoys learning and likes to take part in continuing education courses to keep improving herself as a vet. She is passionate about pet care and loves meeting all our amazing patients each day, and is always happy to help clients with their questions.

At home, Ilke spends her time crafting, recently getting into sewing little jackets for her rescue dog Honey. She also lives with her calico cat Lucy, who prefers to watch the crafting rather than wear any of the finished items.

Melissa Burton

Melissa Burton

Practice Manager

Melissa joined the Ashburton team in 2017 and has been a veterinary nurse or practice manager for two decades. Her favourite part of the job is helping our clients provide the best care for their pets. Feline medicine and behaviour is also an area Melissa has a keen interest in.

Outside of work, Melissa can usually be found spending time with her two horses, Hansel and Toby.

Sam Rees

Veterinary Nurse

Sam is a Qualified Veterinary Nurse and has been nursing since 2013. She has an interest in Small Animal Medicine and Surgical Nursing. At the clinic she is known as the “Little Dog Whisperer” and always loves caring for the challenging small dogs that visit the clinic. At home she has a 7 year old adorable and cheeky Chihuahua x Mini Foxie named Lily-Rose. Her hobbies outside of work include attending live music, film and taking Lily to the dog park.
