Being a veterinary nurse offers her professional practical experience which she values and contributes to her constant learning while at university and she is adores the team she works with. This profession has been a life long dream for Samantha, as when she was a young child she had always wanted to an an ‘animal doctor’.

During her spare time, you’ll either find her playing netball, binge-watching Netflix or spoiling my fur animals with affection. At home she has two senior cats, a Russian Blue cross named Tia, and a Domestic Short Hair named Tessa. Additionally, she has a Pomeranian cross called Marli, who is still in her ‘terrible twos’ and definitely knows how to drive her parents crazy and a Bearded Dragon of my own, ‘Lizzie’, who has a huge personality for such a small animal!

I trained as a Veterinarian in Brisbane and graduated in 1995 and after a short 20-year stint working as a vet in Melbourne, I have seen the light and returned to the beautiful Gold Coast. I have been in small animal clinics for most of my 25-year career and love helping people have a strong bond with their animals by keeping them healthy in body and mind. I have done further training in Acupuncture, Diagnostic Imaging and have special interest in Geriatric medicine.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, take my boys for a swim or enjoy this amazing country with camping holidays. Wherever we go we are joined by our fur-baby ‘Red’, an 8-year-old, Toy Poodle who believes she is a princess.

I began working with Greencross while I was completing my Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing, and have loved being part of such a fantastic team. I grew up in Malaysia and saw an incredible amount of stray dogs living in the streets. During this time in my childhood I decided I would dedicate my life to working with animals. My family relocated back to the Gold Coast 6 years ago and I am so lucky to be working in a field that I am so passionate about. My fur baby who is now 2 years old is a Labrador x Kelpie who loves water as much as I do and we spend our weekends on the beach and in our boat.
