Dr Cassie Gleeson, Practice Manager Virginia McCormack and our team from Greencross Vets Browns Plains are your local pet care professionals, we are truly ‘passionate about pets’ and we love what we do. Our practice is run and managed by a team of dedicated vets, nurses and support staff who understand and value the bond between you and your pet.

Greencross Vets Browns Plains is a state of the art veterinary clinic conveniently located within the Petbarn Browns Plains store, so you can obtain all your pet care needs under the one roof. It is situated on Browns Plains Road opposite the Grand Plaza Shopping Centre, just off the Mount Lindesay Highway and easily accessible from the main road. The combined veterinary services and pet retail offerings available to you and your pets are now more convenient and affordable than ever.

Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Dentistry

Virginia M

Virginia has been a dedicated member of the Greencross Vets team since 2010, bringing over a decade of experience and passion to her role as Veterinary Practice Manager. She is deeply committed to ensuring that every patient and client receives the highest standard of care, while also fostering a positive, supportive environment for her team.

Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and spending quality time with her young, growing family. Her home is joyfully shared with her two beloved dogs—Scarlett the Kelpie and Dot the Golden Retriever—along with several cats and two cheeky chickens named Dumpling and Schnitzel.

Dr Shanice N

Dr Shanice N

Dr Shanice Nitis graduated with First Class Honours in Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland in 2021. Prior to pursuing her veterinary degree, Shanice completed a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Dietetics, reflecting her strong foundation in both animal and human health.

Shanice is passionate about all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery, with a particular focus on strengthening the human-animal bond through compassionate, individualized care. In recognition of her dedication and clinical excellence, she was awarded the title of Australian New Graduate of the Year in 2022.

With 1.5 years of experience in small animal emergency practice, Shanice brings calm, confident care to even the most critical situations. Her commitment to continued learning and holistic patient support shines through in every case she handles.

Outside of work, Shanice enjoys keeping active at the gym, engaging in mindfulness and relaxation activities, and exploring the outdoors with her two beloved dogs—Mango, a Golden Retriever, and Zeus, a Weimaraner.

Ophelia began her journey with Greencross as a student while completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Near the end of her studies, she was offered a position with the team—and she’s been growing her skills and passion for animal care ever since.

Ophelia thrives on supporting new puppy and kitten owners as they learn how to care for their newest family members. She’s also passionate about surgical nursing, delivering the highest standard of care to every patient, and lending a hand to the native wildlife that come through our doors.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Ophelia enjoying time with her own pets, getting in a good gym session, or exploring new beaches along the coast.

Kayla C

Kayla C

Kayla is a veterinary nurse with over a decade of experience, a keen interest in surgical nursing, has a passion for supporting and training new nurses and developing her skills in management. A strong team player, she’s currently completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Kayla is known for her calm, friendly approach and for building strong, trusting relationships with clients and their pets.

When she’s not in scrubs, Kayla enjoys team social sports, going on outdoor adventures with her young son and tending to her ever-growing indoor jungle of plants -a guilty pleasure she fully embraces. She is a proud pet mum to Scout, a loveable Golden Retriever, and Petie, a cheeky Galah who keeps life interesting.

Emma M

Emma M

Emma graduated from Vet Nurse Plus in New Zealand in 2021 with a level 6 diploma. Prior to this, she studied Fine-Arts and Makeup artistry.

Before joining us in 2024, she worked with our Kiwi friends: Vetcare as a lead surgical nurse where she was awarded Regional Vet Nurse of the Year in 2023.

Emma has a special interest in wildlife, especially birds, and is always first in line to assess whatever weird and wonderful creatures come through our doors.

“My favourite part of moving to Australia has to be the wildlife: Whenever I am out for a walk there is always something interesting crawling, slithering or flying nearby”

She also has a passion for surgery and all things anaesthesia. Emma is always keeping up to date with the latest advancements in surgical nursing, upskilling and assisting the team so everyone has the confidence and knowledge to take the utmost care of your pet on their big day!

Outside of work, she can be seen on nature walks, playing video games or drawing.

Amanda C

Amanda began her journey with Greencross Browns Plains as an intern and was very fortunate to be offered a position as a Veterinary Nurse upon the completion of her internship. Amanda has a strong interest in animal behaviour and training, as she loves to see the bond between animals and humans strengthen over time. Amanda’s passion lies in animal welfare and advocating for animals who are unable to advocate for themselves. Away from the clinic, you can find her studying or volunteering at animal welfare organisations to help shelter animals find their new homes!

Dr Cassie G

Dr Cassie Gleeson is the Veterinary Director at Greencross Vets Browns Plains, where she leads a dedicated team committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. Cassie began her journey with Greencross in 2010 as a vet nurse while studying veterinary medicine, graduating in 2013. Her passion and leadership saw her promoted to Veterinary Director in 2015, when she was given the opportunity to lead the Browns Plains clinic.

Dr Cassie enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a special interest in mentoring and training fellow vets and nurses, helping them grow their skills to provide outstanding care for patients and their owners. She is a strong advocate for the human–animal bond and finds deep fulfilment in supporting pet owners in giving their pets the best quality of life.

At home, Dr Cassie enjoys time with her young family and her beloved pets—her dog Scout, and her four cats: Shellie, Daisy, Mortimer, and Bubbles.
