Meet The Team
Originally from Italy, Alberto moved to the US in 1993 to be a flight instructor. While there he pursued a BS (hons) in Biology at the University of Texas. In 2009 Alberto earned the Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M and promptly joined the US Army as a Veterinary Corps Officer. While on Active duty Alberto enjoyed working with hundreds of Military Working Dogs and volunteering for humanitarian missions. Once out of the Army, Alberto and his family moved first to Oregon and is now enjoying the warm Queensland weather! Professionally, Alberto has an interest in emergency medicine, surgery, and dentistry in small animals and exotic pets, especially reptiles. He is also interested in regenerative medicine and stem cell research.
Alberto is passionate about providing excellent health care to small animals and exotics, and enjoys coaching and educating staff and clients on pet health issues. One of Alberto’s personal projects is the application of 3D printing to the development of custom made orthopedic implants. Other academic interests include research in robotics, artificial intelligence, reptile behaviour, and, just to keep his head above the clouds, astrobiology.
When not performing looking after patients, or coding, Alberto can be found practicing Shaolin Kempo with his beautiful wife Danielle, playing with his kids building Star Wars Lego models, riding motorcycles, or getting bucked off horses.
Dr Danielle was born and raised in Hawaii. After graduating from High School, she moved with her family to Texas for college and then veterinary school. After graduating from Texas A&M Veterinary College, Dr Danielle completed a 1 year internship in Florida. In the last 10 years Dr Danielle has worked as a General Practitioner at various private practices across the US gaining invaluable experience in all aspects of veterinary medicine.
For Dr Danielle’s latest adventure, she moved to Australia with her husband, 2 energetic boys, and soon her Norwegian Fjord horse that keeps her busy. Danielle’s professional interests include internal medicine, surgery, and ultrasonography.
In her free time she loves going to the beach, horseback riding, hiking, and anything outdoors. Dr Danielle’s favorite dogs are Golden Retrievers.
Ever since I was little I have been surrounded by animals, whether they big cats & dogs or horses and cattle. I grew up on the family cattle farm just outside of Yandarran enjoying the country air and getting my hands dirty, so I knew from an early age I was destined to have a career in the animal industry. I am currently the baby of the crew but everyone has taken me under their wings and are helping me to complete my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. My career with Greencross is still only new but I am thrilled to be working with animals of all shapes and sizes. My partner and I own a few problem children 2 dogs Turbo (10mth Kelpie x Smithfield) & Dotti (7mth Cattle Dog x Kelpie), 2 horses Highlander (14yr Quarter Horse) & Marvin (9yr Arab x Stock horse), and a budgie called Fletcher. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working on the family farm, horse riding and trips to the beach with our dogs.
