Dr Sarah Zhang

Veterinarian
Sarah grew up in the sunny city of Brisbane. She moved to Perth to study veterinary medicine and graduated from Murdoch University in 2011. She started working as GP in South Australia before transitioning to emergency medicine in Melbourne.

Looking for bigger adventures, she spent the next few years as an ER vet in the US, working with specialists and GP vets. After travelling around the USA and seeking warmer climate, Sarah returned to Australia and joined the team at Greencross Vets Burleigh Waters. She is looking forward to getting to know all the wonderful pets and owners on the Gold Coast.

Away from the clinic she likes traveling, reading, exploring the Gold Coast region and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Roxanne Konig

Veterinarian

Roxy graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2012 and spent the next seven years working in the USA alongside both GP’s and Specialists.
It was here she developed a special interest in soft tissue surgery and urgent care. Roxy has always loved animals and am passionate about their care from puppyhood to geriatric stages.
At home, she has an energetic Pointer, Tucker and a beautiful cat, Sally.

Jake

Veterinary Nurse

Jake is one of our clinics rising nurses, he has completed his Certificate III in Animal Studies at TAFE Qld in 2021. As Greencross Vets is in partnership with the TAFE of Queensland, Jake was the recipient of the Intern program and is currently completing his Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Jake’s passion for caring for your pet, is continually inspired by the bond he shares with his own dog, Benji the Groodle. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and is driven to maintain the highest standards of care.

Kara

Veterinary Nurse

Kara changed careers at a later stage of life to follow her childhood dream of animal care, she sometimes jokes she is the “#40yearoldtraineenurse.” She started doing work experience at Burleigh Waters while completing her Certificate III placement, Kara made an incredible impression she was hired and continues her education while she works at our clinic.
At home, she has is blessed to the pet parent to three chihuahuas who will forever be her animal companions in life.

While working at the clinic, she is driven to provide equal love and attention to all our fury friends, although she does have a little soft spot for the old wise souls that greet the team through our doors.

Kara says, “The team at Burleigh Waters is incredibly caring and fun, and my career change is more than I ever hoped for. I’ll be helping to care for our community’s fury family members well into the future. I hope to see you soon.”

Maddie

Veterinary Nurse

Maddie has completed her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing with TAFE QLD in 2020, soon after she joined the team at Burleigh Waters. She loves all aspects of nursing and continues to develop her skills.
Maddie lives close by the Tweed community with her beautiful mini lop rabbit named Wallace and in her time away from the clinic, she can be found at the beach, on bush walks and camping with friends and family.

Alana

Veterinary Nurse and Practice Manager

Alana has been with Greencross Vets since 2015. Starting as a trainee, she now holds a Certificate IV Vet Nursing Qualification, and Mental Health First Aid accreditation.

She has a beautiful dog called Kat and Burmese cat called Oscar Dogue (Alana has a great sense of humour!)

Now as a Practice Manager, Alana continues her passion in Nutrition and is always willing to provide advice to help your pets stay happy & healthy.

Pam Berthelot

Veterinary Nurse

Pam moved from France to Australia at the age of 18 and went on to complete her Certificate IV, and II in Animal Studies and is a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse.
She has an undeniable passion for all animals, loves exercising, gardening and DIY/small home improvements.
Pam is a pet parent to Feather a cat who is 15years old, with a snow white fur, one green eye, one blue eye. Without a doubt Pam, loves fostering cats and to date has rehomed 21 kittens.

Nicole Sieg

Veterinary Nurse

Nicole has been in the veterinary industry since 2013 and recently joined our Burleigh Waters team in 2023 as one of our receptionists. Prior to this, Nicole spent a few years living, travelling and working around Australia in her van with her dog “Jordy” before settling home on the Gold Coast.

Since returning to work, Nicole prefers welcoming our wonderful clients and patients at reception but still utilises her nursing skills regularly.
Nicole is a thrill-seeker and absolutely loves an adventure! She has jumped off the highest bungee bridge in the world and enjoys the outdoors and embarking on travel adventures.

Dr. Josephine Hartono

In 2017 Josie graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) from the University of Queensland. She have previously worked in Greencross clinics in NSW before joining the team at Burleigh Waters mid 2019.

Josie is passionate about small animal medicine and has been involved in international veterinary volunteer programs in Fiji, South Africa and Sri Lanka. Her goal is to provide the best care possible to allow owners to have a happy and healthy relationship with their furry creatures.

At home, she has a handsome German Shephard named Rocky and a cheeky rescued ginger cat named George. Away from the clinic she likes to go bushwalking, camping and spending time with friends and family.
