Jodie has worked as the Varsity Lakes Veterinary Receptionist for over five years and is proud to have developed strong relationships with our clients and their furry companions! She is well known for providing outstanding support to the vets and will always go the extra mile to ensure the greatest care for your pet. Jodie will be away on maternity leave later in the year, but has already expressed her excitement to join the team again in 2015. When she’s not working in the clinic, you will find her spoiling her two fur babies at home named Coda and Spot.
I started my veterinary journey at Greencross Vets when I was just 15, completing work experience before gaining a traineeship and then being promoted to the role of Veterinary Nurse. I am passionate about all aspects of my job, spending a lot of time attending to patients and also working at the Animal Emergency Centre for afterhours emergency and critical care. I am currently completing a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and find that my passion continues to grow in this industry. When I’m not in the clinic, you will find me going out on my boat and taking my Golden Retriever named Chester in his lifejacket for a swim! I also have three other fur-babies including Billy the silky terrier, Dougal the black cat and Thomas my adopted ginger cat.
I’ve always been passionate about travelling and spent five years working overseas as a stewardess, where I explored new cities and had overseas adventures. However I missed the sunny shores of the Gold Coast and returned to pursue my other love, pets! I am passionate about preventative medicine and educating pet owners about how to be responsible. It’s a joy to come into work and take care of these furry family members and I look forward to getting my own pet soon!
Chloe began her Vet Nurse training at the young age of 14 through Greencross Vets as school based trainee and absolutely fell in love with the industry. She has a very strong passion for all aspects of her job, including preventative medicine and having a soft spot for the geriatric patients we see in clinic.
She is the proud owner of three cats: Leo the four year old Burmese, Baby the four year old Tonkinese and Koko the 20 year old Tonkinese. When she is not in the clinic hard at work you can find her surfing along main beach, eating acai bowls or spending time with my cats.

I started as a new graduate with Greencross Vets after graduating in 2014 from the University of Queensland. I have always had a keen interest in small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery but in particular I love the challenge of feline medicine. Prior to becoming a vet, I graduated with a Bachelor of Biotechnology with Honours and spent five years in the laboratory doing medical research. I have found my passion as a Veterinarian at Varsity Lakes and love helping owners maintain happy and healthy relationships with their pets! Originally from Canada, I love spending my weekends at the beach enjoying the sunshine with my husband. At home I have a menagerie of pets including my crazy rescued domestic shorthair Abbi, a flock of guinea fowl and a small herd of cattle.

Heyn moved to Australia from South Africa shortly after graduating from the University of Pretoria in 2006. He spent two years working in a mixed practice in rural WA before moving to the Gold Coast. Here he worked as an emergency and critical care veterinarian at the Animal Emergency Centre. Thereafter he followed his now fiancé to Wollongong and worked as one of the senior vets in a busy Greencross practice. They have recently returned to the sunny Gold Coast and Heyn is thoroughly enjoying working with the dynamic team at Greencross Vets Varsity Lakes. His professional interests include: preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery and critical care. In his spare time Heyn enjoys nature photography and spending time with his two Italian Greyhounds, Bruce and Bernie.
I have always been passionate about animals starting work experience in a veterinary clinic when I was just fifteen year old! After graduating from high school, I was offered a full time role and a few years later began working as the Practice Manager, where I was able to focus on maintaining the highest standards of service and care for our furry patients. Over the last few years, I have worked in a number of different practices all over the world including London, Dublin and Norway before coming back to the sunny Gold Coast. My furry family includes Barkly the Bichon Friese, Cooper the Cornish Rex cat and Muriel the Domestic Long Hair, who I adopted as a stray.
I’ve always been passionate about animal conservation and after completing my Certificate II in Animal Studies at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary I decided to spend two weeks volunteering with rescued elephants in Thailand. This was such a rewarding experience for me and I knew I wanted to have a career working with animals. I am now studying to complete my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and absolutely love coming to work at the clinic and being able to help and care for all the beautiful fur babies we see here and going home to my big fluffy ragdoll cat, Socrates. I would love to be able to use my nursing skills to go traveling again and help animals in need all over the world.
