Dr Ben Sawtell
After starting out working in other industries for many years, Ben attended Sydney Uni and graduated as a Veterinarian in 2008. He then worked in rural mixed practice and as a locum veterinarian around Australia, before joining Greencross Vets Crown Street in 2014 after a short locum period at the practice where he was impressed by the efficiency and high standard of patient care provided in the down to earth and relaxed atmosphere.
Ben has a special interest in orthopaedics, stemming from many years of repairing broken legs and ruptured ligaments in working dogs who unfortunately thought they were tougher than the ground they went up against. He uses the latest techniques available (such as porous titanium implants, etc) to provide the best outcome and quickest possible recovery for my patients. He especially love helping our native animals and have also repaired a number of broken legs on kangaroos.
He has a crazy kelpie, a cat who was rescued from a stormwater drain, too many horses, and a tankful of tropical fish.
