Although Greencross Vets is part of a national organisation our practice is run and managed by a team of dedicated vets, nurses and support staff who understand and value the bond between you and your pet. Greencross Vets Deeragun offer a comprehensive range of professional veterinary services to cater for all your pet care needs utilising the latest diagnostic equipment.


Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.


Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.


Greencross Vets offer a range of dentistry services like cat and dog teeth cleaning. Consider us your pet’s veterinarian and dentist combined.

Puppy Pre-School

An ultrasound is a painless diagnostic procedure that allows vets to take a closer look at your pet’s health. We only use the latest technology for the most accurate diagnoses.


Greencross Vets clinics are equipped with high-quality radiograph equipment including X-ray machines, automatic processors, and X-ray view equipment.

Clinical Pathology

Clinical pathology allows our vets to analyse and diagnose health conditions. Common laboratory tests include blood tests, urinalysis, faecal tests and biopsy examination.

Laboratory Testing

The latest in-house laboratory equipment allows our vets to perform a range of diagnostic tests to achieve accurate, rapid diagnosis of your pets’ health status.

Rachel Dunn

Rachel Dunn

“Rachel is currently studying her certificate lll in animal studies, she aspires to be a veterinary nurse. She began working as a veterinary nurse assistant in 2016 at the Deeragun clinic.

She was born in Townsville and lived here for 9 years before moving to Nhulunbuy (Gove), a remote town in North East Arnhem Land and recently moved back here in 2015. She enjoys swimming and photography outside of work. Her favorite animal would have to be Tigers with Elephants coming in second.”

Madeline Kelly

Madeline Kelly

Born in Townsville, Madeline began her studies with Greencross in late 2015 as a school based trainee. Upon completion of her training she received a certificate 2 in animal care and secured a position at the Deeragun clinic as an assistant nurse. Madeline has a passion for all animals great and small and loves dedicating her time to ensure their wellbeing is priority. As a motivated student, Madeline aspires to one day be a Veterinarian and branch out to the care of exotic, zoo animals.

“I have been working at Greencross Vets since 2007 starting as a school based trainee then going onto completing my Certificate 4 in Animal Studies.

I have worked through all of the clinics here in Townsville and now reside here at the Greencross Deeragun clinic and absolutely loving working with such an amazing team.

My interested are horse riding, drawing and painting, spending precious time with my Great Dane Kuda and enjoying the best of life with my friends and family.”

Katy Bradly

Katy Bradly

Katy grew up in Townsville but moved away to study her ideal job veterinary science. She graduated from university of Queensland in 1994 and spent the next 16 years working in Toowoomba. Finally the cold got to her and she escaped back to sunny north Queensland in 2011 as a locum vet working at all the practices. In 2012 Katy started working at the woodlands practice full time and soon became the veterinary director.

Chantelle Baker

Chantelle Baker

Chantelle started with Greencross Vets as a school based trainee in 2006 and completed certificate II in animal care whilst studying at Kirwan S.H.S in Townsville.
After obtaining a part time job at Greencross Aitkenvale during year 12, Chantelle studied and completed certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She then worked as a full time nurse at our Aitkenvale animal hospital for a year before being offered the position as Practice Manager at Greencross Woodlands. Since then she has also completed her Certificate IV in Frontline Management. Tellie is passionate about teaching and enjoys working with animals and training our future veterinary nurses.

I have been working at Greencross Vets the start of 2014 in Victoria and moved up here to the sunshine in late 2014 with continuing to work with Greencross.
I am currently studying certificate 4 in Animals Studies.

In my spare time I just love to hang about with my two adored furred babies and my family.

Karolyn Quinn

Karolyn Quinn

Kaz is a Certificate 4 qualified nurse who has recently completed her Diploma of Veterinary Nursing. and is a bit of a geek when it comes to studying and has achieved many certificates in various aspects of animal care and is now looking to complete a qualification in canine behaviour. Kaz also made it to the top 3 in north Queensland apprentice of the year awards. Kaz has been working with animals for years and is something she is very passionate about and loves every minute of it. Kaz is particularly fascinated about canine behaviour and does behaviour consultations.
When not working Kaz loves hanging out with her Motley and reading a good book or catching a movie.

Dr Leah Denman

Dr Leah Denman

Leah was born and grew up in Somerset (South West) England before graduating from Edinburgh University in 1997. After working in a rural practice for 5 years, Leah decided that a holiday was in order and spent 12 months working her way along the West Coast of Australia. Having enjoyed this experience immensely, Leah decided to make the move permanent in 2003 and has been living in Townsville ever since. Leah enjoys all aspects of Veterinary work but especially enjoys surgery, including stifle (knee) repairs, cutaneous reconstruction (skin grafting etc) and pocket pets ( rats, mice and guinea pigs). Outside of work Leah enjoys spending time with her cat Halley.
