An ultrasound is a painless diagnostic procedure that allows vets to take a closer look at your pet’s health. We only use the latest technology for the most accurate diagnoses.

Greencross Vets clinics are equipped with high-quality radiograph equipment including X-ray machines, automatic processors, and X-ray view equipment.

Clinical Pathology

Clinical pathology allows our vets to analyse and diagnose health conditions. Common laboratory tests include blood tests, urinalysis, faecal tests and biopsy examination.

Laboratory Testing

The latest in-house laboratory equipment allows our vets to perform a range of diagnostic tests to achieve accurate, rapid diagnosis of your pets’ health status.

Meet The Team

Tony Phillis

Tony Phillis

I graduated from JCU in 2015 and spent my first 3 years in a large busy mixed practice here in Townsville before joining the professional and passionate Greencross team in late 2018.
I grew up in Southern W.A on a large sheep and cattle property where I always looked forward to the vet visits to check on our livestock and numerous pets. I have spent many years in various industries before finally following my passion to become a veterinarian later in life.
I have grown up with pets in my life for as long as I can remember and I endeavour to treat every patient as if my own.
In my spare time I can be found walking my Afghan Hounds, fishing on the Great Barrier Reef or travelling with my family.
I have two lovely and exceptionally spoilt Afghan Hounds, Mr Teddy and Miss Evie.

I grew up most of my childhood in Brisbane. After completing high school, I made the big move away from family to study a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at JCU. I graduated at the end 2018 and decided to stay in North Queensland as I had fallen in love with the tropics. January 2019 I started my first job with the lovely team at Greencross in Townsville.
In my spare time I enjoy playing a mixture of sports, dog agility with my amazing Cleo, photography and art. I am also involved within the scouting movement in the rover section and volunteering with the youth sections. Often also exploring the great outdoors with friends and my partner.
I love every part of Veterinary Science, my current interests are small animal behaviour, rehabilitation and surgery.

I began my studies with Greencross Vets in late 2016 as a School Based Trainee. Upon completion of my studies I secured a position within the Greencross team at Deeragun, working as a junior Veterinary Nurse. As a passionate animal lover, I aspire to continue my studies within the industry and complete a certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. I want to provide the best care I can for all animals great and small.

My current fur family consists of Bently & Halle the Australian Kelpie’s & Brutus the Dogue De Bordeaux! In my spare time I enjoy eating out and taking my dogs to the creek or beach for a swim.

I have lived in Townsville for 5 years, and I am currently studying my Cert IV in Vet Nursing. My love for animals grew from having a menagerie of pets as a kid!
I moved to Australia from Ireland and worked at wildlife parks, this is where I realised I wanted to work with animals as my career, and decided it was time to take the leap and begin studying. I started with Greencross as an intern through
I love getting to work with different species, and experiencing something new every day. I am a wildlife carer and especially love looking after Aussie birds!

In 2015, I started my Certificate II in Animal Studies and completed it in September of 2016. Once I have finished my schooling, I aim to start my Certificate IV in Vet Nursing to become a fully qualified vet nurse. I started working here at Greencross part-time after completing my Cert II where I get to play with puppies, kittens and save the world one animal at a time! I have lived in Townsville my whole life and love spending time playing sport and exploring the outdoors; while also enjoying spending time with my large fur-baby Nutmeg (horse).
After spending lots of time as a part of the Greencross team.
I have discovered a passion for puppy preschool, emergencies, surgery and customer service as well as a newfound interest in cats which I was never expecting!

Hi, I’m Ashley! I am originally from the UK, living in both Germany and England before moving to Townsville when I was thirteen. I began my veterinary career as a School Based Trainee at Greencross Vets Willows during high school. From there I continued employment after graduating school and went on to complete my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and working at Greencroos Aitkenvale at the 2IC. When the opportunity arose I gladly accepted the position as Practice manager at Greencross Hyde Park. I’m also very passionate about developing well-mannered family-friendly dogs and run puppy school classes where I train dogs in basic manners. When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me spending time with my three fur-babies, a Ridgeback Cross named Betty who I have had since she was orphaned at two weeks old and Reggie the cat and the newest addition is my giant puppy Bruce the American Bull Dog cross.
