Megan was born and raised here in Townsville and graduated from James Cook University in 2016. She is excited to be starting her veterinary career with us here in Townsville. The thing she loves most about her job is the opportunity to help treat and care for a variety of different pets throughout their lives.
In her spare time Megan can be found hanging out with friends and family or tackling her many art projects.
I graduated from JCU in 2015 and spent my first three years in a large, busy mixed practice here in Townsville before joining the professional and passionate Greencross Vets team in late 2018.
I grew up in Southern W.A on a large sheep and cattle property where I always looked forward to the vet visits to check on our livestock and numerous pets. I have spent many years in various industries before finally following my passion to become a veterinarian later in life.
I have grown up with pets in my life for as long as I can remember, and I endeavour to treat every patient as if my own. In my spare time I can be found walking my Afghan Hounds, fishing on the Great Barrier Reef or travelling with my family. I have two lovely and exceptionally spoilt Afghan Hounds, Mr Teddy and Miss Evie.

I grew up spending most of my childhood in Brisbane. After completing high school, I made the big move away from family to study a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at JCU. I graduated at the end 2018 and decided to stay in North Queensland as I had fallen in love with the tropics. In January 2019, I started my first job with the lovely team at Greencross Vets in Townsville.
In my spare time I enjoy playing a mixture of sports, dog agility with my amazing Cleo, photography and art. I am also involved within the scouting movement in the rover section and volunteering with the youth sections. I also enjoy exploring the great outdoors with friends and my partner.
I love every part of Veterinary Science, my current interests are small animal behaviour, rehabilitation and surgery.
I began my studies with Greencross Vets in late 2016 as a School Based Trainee. Upon completion of my studies I secured a position within the Greencross Vets team at Deeragun, working as a junior Veterinary Nurse. As a passionate animal lover, I aspire to continue my studies within the industry and complete a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing qualification. In my spare time I enjoy eating out and taking my dogs to the creek or beach for a swim.
I have lived in Townsville for five years, and I am currently studying my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. My love for animals grew from having a menagerie of pets as a kid! I moved to Australia from Ireland and worked at wildlife parks, this is where I realised I wanted to work with animals as my career, and decided it was time to take the leap and begin studying. I started with Greencross Vets as an intern. I love getting to work with different species, and experiencing something new every day. I am a wildlife carer and especially love looking after Aussie birds!
In 2015, I started my Certificate II in Animal Studies and completed it in September 2016. Once I have finished my schooling, I aim to start my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing to become a fully qualified vet nurse. I started working at Greencross Vets part-time after completing my Certificate II. I enjoy caring for animals and love getting to play with puppies, kittens and save the world one animal at a time! I have lived in Townsville my whole life and love spending time playing sport and exploring the outdoors; while also enjoying spending time with my little fur-baby Flash (dog) and my large fur-baby Nutmeg (horse).
After spending lots of time as a part of the Greencross Vets team, I have discovered a passion for puppy preschool, emergencies, surgery and customer service as well as a newfound interest in cats which I was never expecting! As I continue my career, I want to not only develop my small animal nursing skills, but also branch out into large animals and wildlife somewhere in the future!
I began my veterinary career as a School Based Trainee at Greencross Vets Willows during high school. From there I continued employment after graduating school and went on to complete my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing while working at Greencross Vets Aitkenvale as the 2IC. When the opportunity arose, I gladly accepted the position as Practice Manager at Greencross Vets Hyde Park before moving to Greencross Vets Deeragun as the Practice Manager.
I’m very passionate about developing well-mannered family-friendly dogs and run puppy school classes where I train dogs in basic manners.
When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me spending time with my three fur-babies, a Kelpie cross named Betty who I have had since she was orphaned at two weeks old, Reggie the cat and my giant American Bull Dog cross named Bruce.
Growing up I have always loved animals and have been surrounded by them my whole life. In 2015 I started my traineeship at Greencross Vets Deeragun and completed my Certificate II in Animal Studies by the end of 2016.
After completing my final year in school I continued my veterinary nursing career at Greencross Vets Aitkenvale, joining the team as a part time veterinary nurse.
I really enjoy veterinary nursing, working in this industry is not only rewarding but it is my passion.
