Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Mackenzie is a Veterinary nurse student studying at South Metropolitan TAFE in Bentley. Although she is new to the veterinary industry, she has special interests in small animal behaviour, physiotherapy and rehabilitation of small animals and hopes to further her knowledge in these areas.
Mackenzie does not currently have any pets of her own but has a deep affinity for German Shepherds, Belgian Shepherds, Grey hounds and Golden retrievers and looks forward to adopting one in the future. On days that Mackenzie is not working you’ll find her on long nature walks or relaxing by the beach.
Dr Mikaela Thambert
Dr Mikaela Thambert
Dr Mikaela graduated from vet school at Murdoch University in December 2022. Dr Mikaela is originally from Sweden, however, have lived in the Fremantle area since moving to WA in 2013. She is still exploring her pathway in the veterinary industry but is particularly interested in internal medicine in both small animals and horses. Other areas that interest her are sports medicine and physiotherapy. Outside of work, she loves to read books, hang out with her two dogs and two cats, ride horses and be at the beach.
The two dogs in the household are two Shetland sheepdogs called Enzo and Wilson. They are two cheeky monkeys who love to play and do agility. The two cats in the household are two rescue kitties called Willow and Zeelah and they both love to cuddles, greenies and playing.
Dr. Jennifer Whitney
Dr. Jennifer Whitney
Dr. Jennifer Whitney graduated in 2018 from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in the United States. She worked at a small animal clinic in Michigan until moving to Australia and joining Greencross. She looks forward to exploring Western Australia and working with everyone there. She enjoys every aspect of veterinary medicine, but has special interests in surgery and radiology. She grew up with labrador retrievers, but recently adopted an adorable dachshund/spaniel mix named Reggie. When not working, she enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee, going on hikes and reading novels.
Melody graduated with a Certificate II Animal Studies and Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing from TAFE NSW in 2019 but, was born and raised in Perth Western Australia with her four other siblings. Melody honed her communication skills by working in the retail industry for over a decade and was so dedicated to transitioning into veterinary nursing, she completed her studies working full time. Melody adores all animals with goal is to work in wildlife conservation like her role model Steve Irwin – mind you she is not the biggest fan of spiders.
When she isn’t working, Melody likes to hang out with her friends go hiking and exploring all the wonderful sites and bites around Perth. Her best paw- friend is Indie and is a three year old Staffy, who is up there as one of the best pups in the world.
Practice Manager and Senior Veterinary Nurse
Eren is a qualified Certificate IV registered veterinary nurse and has been working in the industry for over two decades. She has a caring personality and is very compassionate when it comes to helping animals and their owners.
Prior to leadership roles at Ellenbrook she lead the team at Greencross Vets Ocean Reef for twenty years. During this period she initiated the Dog Hydrotherapy Rehabilitation Centre in 2003, which has gone on to educate our nurses in the field of rehabilitating patients.
Eren has volunteered at the Swan Animal Dog Haven and Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre for several years. Keeping to her caring nature, she has welcomed many strays into her house over the years, including cats, rabbits, chickens, birds and ducks. Currently, she has two cats called Ava and Neiko, a Moodle called Max, Schnauzer called Heidi, Rainbow Lorikeet called Teddy, Scarlet chested parrot called Starburst, multiple fish and a family horse called Dakota.

Dr Jade graduated from Murdoch University in 2012, fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a vet. In January 2019 Jade joined the Greencross family. Since then she has worked in small animal practice in Western Australia, treating dogs, cats and a range of small animals and wildlife. Jade loves her career and has always been very interested in animals and passionate about their care. Jade enjoys everything about being a vet, but most of all enjoys improving a pet’s quality of life particularly as they age into the golden years and where she can, improve the unique bond between pet and owner. She likes to help people to better understand their pets and their needs. Jade also has a special interest in animal behaviour, particularly that of cats. Her fur family is composed of four well aged, lovely cats, complete with unique personalities and loads of affection, Xena, Misty, Link and Kiba.
