Hello, from
Greencross Vets

Glen Eira

Welcome to Greencross Vets Glen Eira

Welcome – Like you, we all love animals.

We love our pets and we understand the special part they play in every household – including ours. We are proud to say that our staff are gentle, caring, highly trained and experienced.

We care for a range of animal – dogs, cats, rabbits and birds… and guinea pigs, rats and mice!

Our primary goal and in-house training is focused on preventing problems – we aim to keep your pet “family member” happy and healthy from the earliest weeks to a ripe old age. We are setup for early detection of problems and for medical or surgical treatments as necessary.

Our team is dedicated to offering you and your pet the best in Veterinary care. We look forward to building a friendly relationship with you and your furry family member.

In addition to our veterinary work we offer boarding facilities for cats to enjoy so you can be stress free on holidays knowing your furry companion is in safe and caring hands. We also have a groomer in the team here at Greencross Glen Eira who will handle your dog in a gentle and compassionate way – and produce a stylish cut your dog can show off around the park.

Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Dr Michael R

Dr Michael R

Veterinary Associate
Dr Michael Righetti has a farming background (Greta in north eastern Victoria) and according to his late parents he didn’t contemplate any other occupation other than to be a Vet. His brother looked after the equipment and fencing on the farm, and he took care of the animals.

Dr Righetti has been caring for dogs, cats and other small animals for over 30 years and he’s still trying to convince his nurses that he’s in his mid fourtys! And your pets are safe with Dr Righetti as a strict vegetarian he hasn’t eaten one for 30 years!!!!

Outside the Practice his loves are his wife and children,Molly the mutt (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel), golf, tennis, running (call that jogging!), the Melbourne Footy Club and outdoors (favorite areas Fraser Island and the Gibb River Road).

Dr Michael’s neurosis (or one of them!) in human and veterinary medicine is preventative medicine, and you will find this approach comes up all the time in managing patients.

Emerald R

Emerald R

Emerald has been with Greencross Vets Glen Eira as a veterinary nurse for the past two years. Emerald first discovered her love for nursing after her own dogs Oscar and Lulu were tragically diagnosed with cancer. Looking after Oscar and Lulu in their time of need made Emerald realise she was called to veterinary nursing and she has since completed her Certificate II in Animal Studies and her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2024. Emerald and her family lived in Indonesia for a large chunk of her childhood and has developed a love for the country and visits whenever she is able. In her spare time, Emerald enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing netball, and listening to Taylor Swift.

Sarah enjoys building strong connections with all pets and their families and is always happy to have a chat or answer any questions you might have.

At home, Sarah is proudly owned by two hand-raised and cheeky felines: Bean & Butters. Together, they keep her entertained with their endless antics and lovable chaos!

When not at work, Sarah loves to travel, especially if that can involve scuba diving or snowboarding!
