Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Meet The Team

Dr Melissa Vuocolo

Dr Melissa Vuocolo

Dr Melissa graduated from The University of Queensland in 2017, and began working as a general practice vet for Greencross in 2020. She started her veterinary career as a rotating intern at a local specialist hospital, and has also undertaken an internship in neurology. Melissa enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has special interests in neurology and internal medicine. One of her favourite parts of the job is getting to meet a diverse range of pets and people, and helping to improve their lives.
In her spare time Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and their furry overlords, Dexter and Tannah the Labradors and Henry and Bob the cats.

Dr Katrina Thomas

Dr Katrina Thomas

Dr Katrina is a recent graduate from the University of Queensland, having pursued her dream to become a veterinarian following a rewarding career of many years as a wildlife scientist.

Katrina first entered the veterinary world nursing at a 24-hour referral hospital, during which time she developed a love of emergency medicine. She is also especially interested in ultrasonography, pain management and end-of-life care, but ultimately loves all aspects of being a vet!

When not working, Katrina loves relaxing with her two dogs Torrey and Tess, spending time with family in the Noosa hinterland, and playing around with board games and pottery.

“Veterinarian

Dr. Courtney graduated from James Cook University in 2016. Her first three /years after graduation were spent in a mixed practice in the gold coast hinterlands and she joined the Greencross Jindalee team in 2020. She enjoys all aspects of being a general practitioner vet, but her special interest lies in dentistry. Courtney owns two Chihuahuas Hillary and Lola and in her down time she likes to read Harry Potter.”

Christy has completed her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing and is always looking to increase her knowledge within the industry. She has always had a passion for working with animals and is embracing her career in the Veterinary Industry. During her down time Christy is constantly kept on her toes by her fur-baby – a crazy French Bulldog named Luna. She always has her eyes open for her next travel destination having previously travelled to Japan, Europe, England and multiple other destinations!

Receptionist

Nikki is from New Zealand and has recently made the move over to Brisbane. In New Zealand Nikki worked at a mixed animal veterinary practice where she did reception, veterinary nursing and large animal technician. Nikki loves all animals, and she hopes to start her study in veterinary nursing to become a qualified vet nurse. In her spare time Nikki loves to be outdoors and spend time with her golden retriever Fox who she hopes to fly over to Australia soon!

Emily has always had a passion for animals since she was a little girl. She would always love playing with and looking after them and decided to
become a vet nurse. Emily joined the Greencross team at Jindalee in 2023. Emily has a special interest in both exotics and wildlife (particularly native mammals) and hopes to one day be able to work with them full time. On her days off, you will usually find her spending time with her Whippet cross Kelpie, Cara, whom she loves dearly.

Veterinary Nurse

Michael started his nursing career at the Redbank Plains clinic in 2019 and has loved the veterinary industry ever since. He made the move to Jindalee in 2022 and has fitted in perfectly with the team. Michael has an amazing ability to make friends with even the most scared and stressed dogs and loves to be able to make their time at the vet clinic less stressful. He has a particular interest in radiology. Michael is currently working on his Certificate IV in veterinary nursing.

Outside of work, Michael spends time with his housemate’s Belgian Shepherds and generally enjoys a relaxed style of living.

Jessica Benjamin-Young

After many years of wanting to work with animals, Jess completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing and began her Veterinary Career. She has just recently joined the Jindalee Greencross team in 2023. Jess has a special interest in radiology and pathology, however her favourite part of the job is giving love to patients in her care.

Outside work, she enjoys reading, drawing and adventuring with her two floofs, Bear and Luna.

Dr Sarah joined Greencross in 2023, after graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours).

Sarah has always been very passionate about pets, and she loves being a vet because she can cuddle cute puppies and kittens, but also make a difference in the lives of people and their pets. Sarah is particularly interested in dentistry, surgery, prophylactic medicine, and wildlife.

Outside of work, she and her husband care for their 2 cats, along with hundreds of rare plants. Her interests include ice skating, baking, hiking and going to concerts.

Veterinarian

Rachel graduated from James Cook University in Townsville in 2017. Her first year of practice was spent in the Whitsundays working with large and small animals before moving home to South-East Queensland and focusing on small animal practice. She has been working with Greencross since the start of 2022 as a part-time veterinarian. She spends her time at both Forest Lake Village and Jindalee Greencross teams and particularly enjoys dentistry and cat medicine. Rachel has two female cats at home, Fizz and Maud, and a conure, Mork, who she loves doting on with her fiancé.

Veterinarian
Marese graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2013 and has recently joined the Greencross Vets family. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a special interest in preventative healthcare and ultrasonography. She remains constantly motivated by the human-animal bond, counting herself lucky to be a part of a wonderful profession.

In her free time, she enjoys wildlife spotting while exploring new trails, experimenting in the kitchen and travelling.

Veterinarian

Dr Kerry graduated from The University of Queensland in 2015 and has been working as a Vet with Greencross ever since. She started her veterinary career as a nurse at Greencross Vets Redbank Plains and transferred to the Jindalee clinic soon after graduating.
Kerry enjoys all aspects of being a Veterinarian and has special interests in ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery. One of the highlights of her job is getting to experience and see the bonds clients form with their pets.
In her spare time Kerry enjoys relaxing with her cat, Percy (who started life as a sick stray kitten brought into the Jindalee clinic), and going for walks with the family dog, Jax.

Jess is one of the Senior Veterinary Nurses here at Greencross Vets Jindalee. Jess started her career here as a volunteer student and was fortunate enough to be offered a full-time position where she then completed her Certificate IV in veterinary Nursing in 2015, a decade later and she’s still here and loving her job every day. Nursing is her absolute passion, and she couldn’t see herself in any other profession. She has such a passion for Dental health care and really enjoys doing Nurse dental check appointments. Outside of work, Jess is a mother to two beautiful little girls Miss G & Miss B and of course two tiny fur babies as well, Chihuahuas Billy and Sophie. In her free time Jess enjoys the outdoors, boating & camping and going on adventures with her husband and two girls.

Alana joined the Greencross Vets team in 2003 as a school based trainee whilst in high school where she completed Certificate II in Animal Studies.
She continued her studies after graduating high school and has since completed Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing, we are so proud to have see her professional progression as she qualified into a registered nurse and has been with us ever since. Alana enjoys assisting with the difficult cat patients and some of the staff even call her the cat whisperer!
At home she has 3 cats and 2 dogs and one day hopes to fulfil her dream of working with ‘big cats’ at a zoo.

Rachel Bryce

Practice Manager

Rachel completed her Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing through a School-based traineeship at Greencross Vet Jindalee in 2015. She then completed her Certificate IV and worked as a vet nurse at another Greencross Vets clinic. She now works as the Practice Manager for Greencross Jindalee. “My life for as long as I can remember has been all about animals”. When I was in primary school, I use to pretend to be a Vet and practice on stuffed animals. I have a ginger kitten named Stanley, a ragdoll kitten named Kaiya and a Pomeranian X Shih Tzu named Bella, who are my whole world and I love to bits. When I’m not work, I’m looking for ways to better myself and further my career. Rachel says, “It is my pleasure to be a leader for such a wonderful team and clinic”.
