Our Services.

Greencross Vets Lawnton offer a comprehensive range of professional veterinary services to cater for all your pet care needs utilising the latest diagnostic equipment.

We would like to inform you that we are offering routine surgery such as desexing, diagnostic surgery, caesareans, wound stitches, tumour and lump removals on Saturdays. Please make an appointment for these services and also note that there will be a 20% surcharge applicable to surgeries performed on Saturdays.

Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Dentistry

Greencross Vets offer a range of dentistry services like cat and dog teeth cleaning. Consider us your pet’s veterinarian and dentist combined.

Veterinary Director

Dr Kirsty was born on the Gold Coast and later moved to Brisbane to complete her qualifications in Veterinary Science and Zoology/Animal Physiology. She is a client favourite wherever she is and works across Mitchelton and Lawnton clinics as our Veterinary Director.

Kirsty has special interest in soft-tissue surgery, small mammals, and radiography.

She is an avid traveller and loves the long-term continuity of seeing pets from first vaccines through to geriatric care!

Dr. Kelly Bingham

Veterinarian

Kelly joined Greencross in early 2019 as part of the New Graduate Program and is an integral member of the Lawnton and Mitchelton teams. Dr Kelly’s kind and gentle approach makes her a favourite, particularly amongst our feline patients!

Kelly holds special interests in ultrasonography, soft-tissue surgery, and feline medicine.

She is the proud pet-parent to Kelpie, Outlaw, and her 2 feline boys Magnus and Gingi.

Veterinarian

Dr Alanna graduated from the University of QLD in 2016, is passionate about all aspects of General Practice and is our resident ‘cat whisperer’.

Alanna joined the Greencross Team in 2017 and is an advocate for animal welfare and preventative medicine.

In her spare time, she enjoys karate and balancing her busy working-mum life. She has 2 unusually large cats / small tigers who will likely live to their mid-20s like her previous cats.

Dr. Sarah hopped across the pond to join us from England. Graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2015. Throughout her experience, she has developed keen interests in felines, surgery, and adopting homeless animals.

Jess Hardman

Practice Manager / Veterinary Nurse

Jess has been in the Veterinary industry for 16 years, working as a qualified nurse and spending the last 8 years as a Practice Manager with Greencross. Jess joined the Mitchelton team in February of 2024 and manages both the Mitchelton and Lawnton clinics.

Jess is passionate about caring for the vets and nurses who care for your pets.

She is a proud mum and pet-parent to French bulldog Quincy Eugene, cat Gideon (aka Giddy Kitty), and 3 mischievous rats.

Mardie Madsen

Head Veterinary Nurse

Mardie graduated with her Certificate IV in 2020 and has been an integral member of the Lawnton team for the last 5 years. Mardie’s exceptional client experience skills and patient care perfectionism keep us striving to be the best.

When she’s not cuddling other peoples’ Staffies, she is cuddling her own handsome man in the picture, Sargent.

Our beloved Mumma is an integral member of the Lawnton team and has been for over 6 years. She is a tough boss, but fair and mostly reasonable.

As the Clinic Cat, Mumma’s role includes looking down on us, judging everyone, loafing on a heated mat, and getting brushed twice a day.

Yasmin McAvoy

Yasmin McAvoy

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Yasmin holds her Certificate III in Veterinary Nursing and is currently working towards her full nursing qualification. She has special interests in rescue and rehoming work, as well as continuing education and preventative medicine.

Yasmin enjoys her spare time with food, live music, and her Staffy, Maggie.

Heidi Chapman

Veterinary Technician

Heidi graduated from UQ in 2023 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology and is further studying native wildlife. Heidi joined as a nurse in early 2024 and loves giving extra TLC to our more nervous patients.

She is pet-parent to Shadow the German Shephard and enjoys anaesthesia and post operative care.

Kelsea Schwenke

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Kelsea joined as a Nurse Intern Student and was adopted by the team in a permanent capacity. She is working towards her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and is passionate about preventative medicine and dachshunds!

She is proud servant to Benny the Cat who leads an army of Dachshunds.

Veterinary Nurse

Kirra joined Greencross Lawnton in September 2021 and holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nurse.

She is passionate about all things feline and has a uniquely beautiful fancy cat, Cardi – the domestic shorthair. Her dog is Schooner the Cavalier who is a frequent visitor to the clinic for love and cuddles.

Ash joined the Lawnton team as a placement student in 2021 and was just so good we didn’t let her leave. She holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is passionate about surgery, anaesthesia, and large breed care.

Ash has the most beautiful mixed breed girl, Ruby roo, who is almost 10 years old and a mix of … Ridgeback? Great Dane… maybe Lab?

Head Veterinary Nurse

Bella is an experienced Cert IV nurse who has worked in Greencross clinics for more than 5 years. She is particularly passionate about training and education, anaesthesia, surgery, and radiology.

Bella enjoys the lively company of her 3 dachshunds and 4 grey cats, a delightful testament to her commitment to being busy!

Kirsty Vanderwolf

Kirsty Vanderwolf

Kirsty joined us as a Veterinary Nurse not long after she completed her Cert IV. She has a keen interest in surgical nursing and her passion (other than her patients, of course!) is basketball – she plays competitively! Kirsty has 2 dogs; Bella & Bobbie, and a kitty cat called Ginger.
