We are a well-equipped veterinary hospital that has been part of the Maitland community for over 20 years. We have a dedicated team of vets, nurses and reception staff who are all highly experienced and have a wide range of special interests involving all areas of veterinary medicine and animal care.

Desexing
Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.
Vaccinations
Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.
Heartworm Prevention
Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.
Dentistry
Greencross Vets offer a range of dentistry services like cat and dog teeth cleaning. Consider us your pet’s veterinarian and dentist combined.
Puppy Pre-School

X-ray/Radiology
Greencross Vets clinics are equipped with high-quality radiograph equipment including X-ray machines, automatic processors, and X-ray view equipment.
Clinical Pathology
Clinical pathology allows our vets to analyse and diagnose health conditions. Common laboratory tests include blood tests, urinalysis, faecal tests and biopsy examination.

Imogen Davies is a talented and enthusiastic veterinary nurse who graduated in 2022. She is known for her can-do attitude and versatility. Imogen confidently handles everything from surgical assistance to patient care with skill and professionalism. She has a special passion for equine nursing and thrives when working with horses, combining her technical knowledge with a genuine love for animals. Imogen’s energy, dedication, and all-round awesomeness make her an invaluable part of any veterinary team.

Hannah has been a dedicated veterinary nurse since 2015, beginning her career at Macquarie Road before moving to Greencross Wyong and later Greencross Lambton before coming to Greencross Maitland. Known for her focus on patient comfort, she brings compassionate care to every aspect of her work. At home, her world revolves around her son Vinnie, along with a small but quirky pet family: a fat black cat named Cinders, and two goldfish, Martha and Nigella. While she admits this chapter of her life might feel a bit light on personal hobbies, her commitment to both her patients and her family speaks volumes.

Dr Lebogang Mashamaite is a new graduate veterinarian who recently joined the Green Cross team at Maitland. Originally from Pretoria, South Africa. Dr Lebo brings a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to the team, having joined at the end of 2024. Her addition to the team is highly anticipated, and she is eager to contribute to the care and well-being of companion animals at Greencross.

Gemma Reinberger is a highly experienced senior veterinary nurse with over 16 years in the industry. She began her veterinary nursing career in Sydney, where she developed a strong foundation in animal care and clinical support. Driven by a passion for animal health and a love for coastal living, Gemma relocated to Port Macquarie, where she continued to provide exceptional care before joining the team at Greencross Maitland. Known for her calm, passionate nature and extensive knowledge, Gemma is a valued member of her veterinary team and a trusted advocate for animal welfare. She also has a special interest in animal behaviour and exotic animals.

Amelia graduated from nursing in 2015 and has been a dedicated member of the Green Cross team for the past four years. She is an exceptional surgery nurse, known for her versatility and ability to perform in all areas of nursing . Amelia has a particular fondness for birds and owns a 3 dogs.

Veterinarian
Dr Georgia graduated from James Cook University in early 2021, and began her career in rural mixed practice in Queensland. She particularly enjoys small animal medicine and surgery, and is keen to advance her skills in ultrasonography and surgery.
In her free time, Georgia enjoys dance, aerial gymnastics and a good book, as well as time at home with her sister and their two dogs.

Veterinarian
Dr. Gin was born and raised in Singapore, and moved to Australia in 2017 to study veterinary medicine at Murdoch University in Perth. She graduated in 2020 and worked in a small-animal practice for 3 years before joining the Greencross team in 2024. Dr. Gin has an interest in anaesthesia and analgesia, endocrinopathies, and soft tissue surgery.
She has experience with marine conservation and has worked with sharks, rays, and sea turtles. She also enjoys dancing, the sun and the beach, reading psychological thriller books, and playing her Xbox. She and her partner whom is also a veterinarian, share 3 ginger cats, 2 Chihuahuas, goldfish and snails, and 2 pigeons with hopes to get a dozen pet rats in the near future.
Currently, she is brushing up her skills with pet fish medicine and hopes to see more aquatic clients in future.

Alex grew up in Newcastle surrounded by animals from a very young age. She never grew out of the ‘pony phase’ of childhood, leading her to complete a Bachelor of Equine Science and Veterinary Technology and allowing her to work with animals in clinic.
Alex has been a part of the Greencross Vets team since 2018, enjoying all aspects of veterinary nursing with a particular interest in rabbits and horses. She is a proud mum of Collin the border collie, Bagheera the cat, Luna the rabbit and Livi the thoroughbred.

Lisa has been a veterinary nurse for many years now and brings with her vast experience and knowledge in the areas of veterinary nursing including: Avian, Exotics and Reptiles along with dogs and cats.
Her passion is hand rearing orphaned kittens.

Veterinarian
Dr Kat graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2017 and has been a member of the Greencross Vets team since early 2019. She has had a passion for cats and dogs from the start of her career, but also quickly developed a love for birds and small mammals. Kat is more than happy to see your parrots, chickens, mice, rats, rabbits and ferrets, and she enjoys and appreciates the unique challenges these animals present.
When she isn’t at work, Kat is usually hanging out at home with her wife, plants and pets. Kat is a proud pet parent to two smoochy cats, one goofy foxhound, a cheeky galah, evil eclectus parrot and a rather unexciting fish.

Veterinary Director
Dr. Josie graduated from Sydney University in 2013 and moved to western NSW to work in mixed practice for five years. She joined Greencross Vets Maitland in 2019. She has a keen interest in small animal surgery – both soft tissue and orthopaedic, and has completed continuing education in these areas.
She lives with her husband (also a vet) and they enjoy discussing interesting cases together. When she is not at work, she is usually out walking her dog or working in the garden.

Veterinary Director
Dr Tracey has over 20 years experience as a veterinarian, originally graduating from University of Queensland. she has memberships with the Australian & New Zealand college of Veterinary Scientists for Small Animal Emergency & Critical care.
Tracey also has her Memberships in Emergency and Critical care. She has special interests in small animal medicine (in particular emergency medicine), ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery.
When not at work, Tracey competes in reining with her horse.

Katie started her career in 2006 and she graduated from TAFE with a Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing qualification and an excellence in surgical nursing.
The mum of two enjoys spending time with her family, being entertained by her chickens and playing the guitar in her spare time. In 2015 Katie decided it was time to take on a new challenge and graduated from AIRC in 2017 with her Diploma of Veterinary Nursing.
In August 2019 she became a member of Greencross Vets Maitland and is thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to broaden her skills and knowledge.
