Greencross Vets Midland is a brand-new purpose-built veterinary clinic. We are your local team of pet care professionals, we are truly ‘passionate about pets’ and we love what we do.

Greencross Vets Midland is conveniently located next to Petbarn Great Eastern (previously City Farmers).Our team are constantly undertaking continuing education, so you and your pets benefit from the latest advances in veterinary science. We provide a comprehensive range of professional veterinary services to ensure that your pet is healthy and happy.

Our Philosophy is to approach the care and wellbeing of your pet as if they were our own. We invest ourselves emotionally as well as professionally so you can be assured that your pet is in the best of hands. Meet The Team

Dr. Gabriella Perfetti

Dr. Gabriella Perfetti

Veterinarian

Dr. Gabriella grew up in a small farm in the north of Italy. She graduated from University of Bologna in 2009 and then worked for three years in small animal clinics. In 2012 moved to Australia and permanently settled in Perth in 2013. In Australia, Dr. Gabriella mostly worked in emergency referral centers. After the birth of her second child in 2022, she started working with Greencross Vets. Dr. Gabriella has a particular interest in emergency and imaging.

When she is not working, she loves spending time with her children and traveling when possible.

Veterinary Nurse

Hayley recently moved over to Perth from the UK where she qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in October 2020 after studying a three year Diploma.
Since completing her working holiday visa in 2014 where she actually worked at Greencross Vets, she knew she would be back because she loved the city and the clinic. She has worked at the Nedlands and Midland clinics and loves the variety of cases both clinics have to offer.

Back in the UK, she grew up around dogs, which adds to her knowledge about them but equally adores our feline patients. Hayley has a particular interest in the complex behaviours of our feline friends, additionally she has a keen interest in the wildlife in Australia and in the future would love to get more involved with wildlife rehabilitation.

Currently she lives with a gorgeous rescue grey hound called Denzel, he has a very gentle character and often keeps her company in the evenings on the sofa.

In her spare time, she loves being out and about exploring all that this incredible country has to offer. Hayley loves the water and can often be found spending time at the beach, and enjoys water activities such as kayaking, swimming and snorkeling.

Evana is a qualified vet nurse and has a particular interest in emergency work. In her spare time, Evana can be found enjoying gardening and going to the beach with her staghound, Maisy.

Dr James Holder

Dr James Holder

Veterinary Director

James has extensive experience in the veterinary industry, graduating from the University of Bristol (UK) in 1998. After working in a number of small animal practices throughout England, James made the move to Shanghai, China in 2002 where he managed two clinics. During this time he worked as the Medical Director for Second Chance Animal Aid (SCAA), a private non-profit organisation committed to protecting and improving the health and welfare of companion animals through education, healthcare, advocacy, outreach, adoption and the promotion of foster care, as an alternative approach to traditional shelters.

At the end of 2013, he and his family moved to Perth, where he is able to continue his interest in all aspects of veterinary practice particularly ophthalmology , preventative healthcare, orthopaedics and behaviour.

When he is not in the clinic, you will find him playing rugby for UWA, going to Fame Trivia quizzes, walking his dogs Apollo and Timmy and enjoying the beaches of WA..

Dr. Rachael Hayes

Veterinarian

Dr. Rachael is from County Cork in Ireland and qualified from University College Dublin in 2016. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Devon in the Southwest of England where she spent over a year working in small animal practice. She then moved home to Cork and spent four years working in various small animal veterinary roles before joining the Greencross Vets Nedlands team.

Rachael has a professional interest in soft tissue surgery and loves a challenging medical case. While working as a small animal vet, she also had the opportunity to treat local wildlife. This has been a particular interest of Rachael’s since she rescued an injured hedgehog named Marvin who now lives in her back garden!

Outside of work, Rachael loves to spend time reading or walking on the beach with her two cocker spaniels, Maggie and Lucy. She also loves to travel and will use any opportunity she can to explore new places while meeting people along the way. Rachael is very excited to move to Australia and start a new adventure while also expanding her experience as a veterinarian.

Harriet Alden

Practice Manager

Having moved to Australia seven years ago, Harriet embarked on a career in the veterinary industry, qualifying as a Registered Vet Nurse. She has been working as the Practice Manager alongside Dr James Holder and the team at Greencross for 3 years. She has a love for animals big or small with a special fondness for Terriers, sparked by the love of her childhood Border Terrier, Harley.

Lauren Wilson

Lauren Wilson

Receptionist/Clinic Coordinator

Lauren is the Clinic Coordinator at Greencross Vet and the Animal Emergency Centre Midland. Lauren studied Animal Science at the University of Sydney and has explored a variety of animal related professions prior to settling in Perth. Currently training as a Veterinary Nurse when not on duty as our Clinic Coordinator.

When she’s not working, she loves hanging out with her Rough Collie Xander or travelling!

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Stephanie joined Greencross Vets as a student in 2020, she has joined our team as an animal attendant/trainee nurse and will be a qualified veterinary nurse at the end of 2021.
Stephanie’s passion for caring for animals began at a young age, as her family ran a wildlife shelter from home, she enjoys any animal that wants a pat and a cuddle.
In Steph’s free time, she likes to spend time at the beach with her dog Sisco and rock climbing at a pet friendly centre.
