Greencross Vets Mortdale offer a comprehensive range of professional veterinary services to cater for all your pet care needs utilising the latest diagnostic equipment.

Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Dentistry

Greencross Vets offer a range of dentistry services like cat and dog teeth cleaning. Consider us your pet’s veterinarian and dentist combined.

Grooming

Don’t have your own clippers? Let us take care of dog grooming for you. Our clinic offers premium dog grooming for your pet.

Puppy Pre-School

Ultrasound

An ultrasound is a painless diagnostic procedure that allows vets to take a closer look at your pet’s health. We only use the latest technology for the most accurate diagnoses.

X-ray/Radiology

Greencross Vets clinics are equipped with high-quality radiograph equipment including X-ray machines, automatic processors, and X-ray view equipment.

Clinical Pathology

Clinical pathology allows our vets to analyse and diagnose health conditions. Common laboratory tests include blood tests, urinalysis, faecal tests and biopsy examination.

Laboratory Testing

The latest in-house laboratory equipment allows our vets to perform a range of diagnostic tests to achieve accurate, rapid diagnosis of your pets’ health status.

Melissa Jeffcoat

Melissa joined the Greencross Mortdale team in 2015 as Practice Manager. Melissa is also a qualified Nurse of 12 years. She enjoys managing the day of day running of the business and ensuring your pet’s receive the best possible care when they visit the practice.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and her two adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, named Abby and Benson.

Sarah Dilger

Sarah is one of our full-time qualified Certificate IV senior veterinary nurses and she has been working as a veterinary nurse for the passed 8 yrs. She has a keen interest in surgical nursing and is currently studying the Diploma of Veterinary Nursing in General Practice. She is a dedicated nurse and takes pride in ensuring that patients under her supervision receive the highest quality of care possible. Sarah is also one of our Puppy School trainers and she has a cheeky 9yr old cat named “Alaska”.

Donna joined Mortdale in 2009 after graduating from the University of Sydney. She enjoys soft tissue surgery and medicine, and being in general practice allows her to pursue these interests. When not at work, she usually spends most of her time relaxing at home. Hobbies include reading and cooking, and supervising a crazy cat that can’t be trusted around anything that can be chewed.

Volunteering in animal shelters and zoos since she was 14 in the States developed Dr. Ketherine´s keen interest in all creatures from a young age. This love grew further once she returned to Australia, particularly for our unique wildlife after participating in WIRES and extracurricular programs at the University of Sydney. Ketherine has been involved in the veterinary industry at all levels including as a kennel hand, at reception, while nursing, and finally now aa a vet after graduating from the University of Sydney with Honours Class I in 2017. Her additional fields of interest include feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dermatology. In her spare time, she enjoys coastal hikes, kayaking, and watercolour painting. Her apartment is ruled by an affectionate but demanding senior cat, and she particularly enjoys taking the family dog and cat out for walks.

Dr Sophia Lay

Dr Sophia Lay

Dr. Sophia is a veterinarian who loves all animals great and small. Her special interests include surgery and exotic animals. During her study, Sophia worked as a veterinary nurse in the Sydney University Veterinary Hospital and got to cover all areas of veterinary nursing. Sophia has a Cavoodle puppy called Charlie and enjoys spending her free time outdoors especially bushwalking and camping.

Dr Tessa Jongejans

Tessa graduated from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands in 2009 and moved to New Zealand. These she worked in mixed practice for 3 years before moving to Australia with her partner Jamie. She started with Greencross Vets on the Central Coast but after 6 months moved to the Greencross Vets Lambton clinic to take up the role of Veterinary Director. After 3 years in Newcastle, they decided to take on a new adventure which led them to Mortdale.

Tessa enjoys all aspects of the veterinary role, but is especially passionate about surgery and management. When moving from Greencross Vets Lambton to Mortdale, she brought along the surgical laser with her surgical expertise, giving the clinic access to this unique surgical equipment!

In 2016 she welcomed her son Tias to the family, and after maternity leave she returned to the clinic full days Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
