Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

With over 25 years of invaluable experience in the animal care industry, Bronwyn is a seasoned professional who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as Practice Manager at Greencross Vets. Her dedication to providing exceptional care and her love for animals are evident in every aspect of her work.
Bronwyn joined Greencross Vets in 2022, stepping into the role of Practice Manager for the newly formed Smithfield team. Accompanying Bronwyn on her journey is Widget, her beloved Brussels Griffon. Widget is not just a pet; she is a cherished member of the Greencross family, bringing joy and companionship to both staff and clients alike.
Outside of her professional commitments, Bronwyn enjoys immersing herself in the beauty of her surroundings and exploring the unique wonders of Cairns. Whether she’s traveling to new destinations, discovering hidden gems in her local area, or enjoying live music gigs with friends, Bronwyn embraces life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. As a true Cairns local for over 30 years, Bronwyn is a familiar face to many, and her warm and welcoming presence adds an extra layer of comfort to the Greencross Vets experience.

Meet Kate, the heart and soul of our veterinary clinic. As the Head Nurse, Kate brings her unwavering dedication and love for feline care to every aspect of her work. Influenced by the Aristocats as a child, Kate’s dream of living rich in a large house with many cats has become a reality, at least in terms of the cats part!
From a young age, Kate’s passion for cats has been unmistakable. Inspired by the charm and elegance of the Aristocats, she has devoted herself to all things feline. In Kate’s eyes, there is no such thing as an angry kitty; each cat is a precious little angel deserving of love and care. Her genuine affection for these furry companions shines through in her every interaction, making her a beloved figure among our patients and their owners.
Kate’s dedication to nursing extends beyond the routine. She has a particular passion for emergency care, recognizing the importance of swift and effective intervention in critical situations. To further her skills in this area, Kate has undertaken additional studies, ensuring that she remains at the forefront of emergency veterinary medicine.
As Head Nurse, Kate plays a crucial role in ensuring that the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. From coordinating patient appointments to maintaining the clinic’s top-notch standards, Kate’s attention to detail and organizational prowess are unmatched. With a focus on feline medicine and ultrasonography, Catherine has been a valuable member of the Greencross Vets team since November 2015, bringing expertise and compassion to every furry patient that walks through the door.
Catherine has a special interest in Feline medicine and ultrasonography with a deep understanding of the unique needs of cats and a skilful hand in diagnostic imaging, she ensures that every feline patient receives the highest standard of care.
For Dr. Catherine, the most rewarding moments in veterinary practice are when sick patients recover and return to visit. These heart-warming reunions serve as a reminder of the impact that has on the lives of both pets and their owners.
Outside of the clinic, Dr Catherine leads an adventurous life. She has mastered the skies, having learned to fly a Cessna, and explored the depths of the ocean through scuba diving.
With two kids in tow, Dr. Catherine is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to explore Cairns once again. Amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant wildlife, she looks forward to creating cherished memories with her family.
Catherine shares her life with Puss Puss, a 5-year-old Domestic Long Hair Cat. As both a veterinarian and a pet parent, she understands the importance of providing love, care, and companionship to furry family members.

Dr. Kailey brings a wealth of passion and dedication to her role as a veterinarian at Greencross. From a young age, her fascination with animal medicine has been evident, driving her to pursue her dreams with unwavering determination.
Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Kailey’s journey in veterinary medicine began after she graduated from UC Santa Cruz (“Go Banana Slugs”) where she studied Marine Biology. With a desire to expand her horizons and delve deeper into the world of veterinary science, she made the bold decision to venture to Australia
After years of diligent study and hard work, Dr. Kailey’s journey led her to Cairns, her favourite city in Australia. Joining the team at Greencross in October 2022, she found herself immersed in a career that perfectly aligned with her lifelong passion for animal care. Dr. Kailey’s dedication to her craft shines through in every aspect of her work, as she continually strives to provide the highest standard of care to her patients.
Dr. Kailey’s special interest in exotic and native wildlife sets her apart in her field. Whether it’s caring for endangered species, or promoting conservation efforts, she is deeply committed to the welfare and preservation of these unique animals.
On her well-deserved days off, Dr. Kailey fully embraces the beauty of Cairns. Whether she’s soaking up the sunshine, exploring the breathtaking Great Barrier Reef, or lending a helping hand through her volunteer work with turtle rehabilitation, she finds joy in immersing herself in the natural wonders of her surroundings. From Melbourne to Cairns, Joseph’s journey in veterinary medicine has been marked by a steadfast commitment to patient well-being and a passion for tackling complex hospital cases.
Joseph’s career with Greencross Vet began in Melbourne, where he honed his skills and expertise in veterinary nursing. In 2018, drawn by the allure of Cairns and the opportunity to contribute to animal care in a new environment, Joseph made the decision to relocate and join the Greencross team in Cairns. Since then, he has been an invaluable asset to our clinic, bringing his extensive knowledge and unwavering dedication to every patient he encounters.
Joseph approaches his work with a combination of skill, empathy, and dedication. His commitment to going above and beyond for his patients is unwavering, ensuring that each animal receives the highest level of care possible.
In addition to his work at Greencross Vet, Joseph has generously volunteered his time and expertise with Vets Beyond Borders in remote communities. Through his volunteer efforts, he has had the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and communities in need, further solidifying his dedication to animal welfare and care.
At home, Joseph shares his life with Blue, his beloved Staffy. As a pet parent, he understands the importance of providing love, care, and companionship to his furry family member, enriching both their lives with joy and happiness.

Alyssa’s journey with Greencross began when she joined the Smithfield team permanently in January 2024. Starting as a trainee, she completed her Certificate II Greencross Traineeship and has since embarked on her journey towards achieving her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Her determination and commitment to her studies are evident in her daily work, as she continuously strives to expand her knowledge and skills in veterinary care.
Alyssa approaches her work with unwavering passion and enthusiasm. Her genuine love for animals shines through in everything she does, from assisting with patient care to comforting anxious pet owners. Alyssa’s positive attitude and infectious energy make her a joy to work with, uplifting the spirits of both her colleagues and our furry patients.
As a Cairns local, Alyssa feels a deep connection to the vibrant community she calls home. Kimi is a Vet Nurse and practice Supervisor at Greencross Redlynch. Originally from England she has followed her passion to become a vet nurse starting in 2016 and becoming a valued member at Greencross Redlynch in 2020, with a special interest in wildlife and birds, she frequently rescues and cares for them in her spare time.
She has two Dogs Dakoda & Daisy & a Spangled Drongo Named midnight.
