Dr Matthew Legg (Dr Matt) grew up in a small town in South Africa. After qualifying in 2011 from the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort, he started his career as a mixed animal practitioner honing his skills in large animal work, and especially equine work. He then joined a small animal practice in his hometown prior to moving to Australia in 2016. Matt moved into Regional Victoria where he joined a mixed animal practice and helped with the start-up of a new clinic. In 2020 he joined the Greencross group and is now the current Vet director at the Craigieburn and South Morang clinics. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, fishing and the outdoors. He has four pets – two rabbits, and two cats, along with his wife and two beautiful daughters. His veterinary interests lie in pathology and ophthalmology of small animals.
Mikayla has grown up with animals her whole life, ranging from dogs and cats to ducks and turtles. She has always had a love for animals and has grown up very close to the vet nursing field. She began working for Greencross Vet in 2022 and has loved it since. She is passionate about patient welfare, as well as delivering fantastic customer service.
Mikayla is currently studying a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resource Management, and aims to work in HR in the future. In her free time, Mikayla loves to cook, make candles, and spend time with family and friends. She loves her German shepherd, Hachi, and Jack Russell x Beagle, Alvin. She hopes to adopt more pets in the future.
Evangeline started as a Veterinary Nurse in 2022 and is in the process of studying veterinary sciences at the University of Melbourne. When she was little, Evangeline found herself highly fascinated by chimpanzees, penguins and all sorts of exotic animals, inspiring her long-term goal of becoming a veterinarian.
When possible, Evangeline enjoys travelling back and forth to Canada (her home country) to ski, hike, and visit family. In her free time she also enjoys playing music, reading and looking after her plants.
Kiara started at Greencross as a placement student in 2020 and the following year she was ecstatic to be offered a position at Greencross Vets. Senior Veterinary Nurse
Scott joined the Team at Greencross Vets in August 2017 as casual vet nurse, now currently working as full time vet nurse.
After finishing high school, his drive and passion to work with animals and his love for Australian wildlife lead him to become a wildlife carer. Scott has been caring for wildlife for 14 years, after a few years of wildlife caring he decided he wanted to further his knowledge by becoming a vet nurse. He started vet nursing in 2006 and hasn’t looked back since!
His deep love for animals means Scott is always surrounded with animals of all shapes and sizes. With 3 dogs, 2 cats, birds and tropical fish he is kept very busy and active at home – but wouldn’t have it any other way. In his spare time Scott loves to hit the town with friends and enjoys trying all the great coffee Melbourne has to offer.
