Here at Greencross Vets Strathalbyn we are committed to offering you and your pet’s exceptional service and the very best in veterinary medicine and preventative health care. We are your local team of pet care professionals and are truly ‘passionate about pets’ and we love what we do.

We have been servicing small companion animals and farm animals in the Strathalbyn and surrounding communities for nearly 40 years. Our clinic prides itself on our strong work ethic, our involvement with the local community and its events and most importantly the bond we hold with our clients and pets.

Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Dentistry

Greencross Vets offer a range of dentistry services like cat and dog teeth cleaning. Consider us your pet’s veterinarian and dentist combined.

Samantha Parson

Samantha Parson

Samantha joined the clinic in 2023 via the Greencross Certificate 2 Internship programme in Veterinary Nursing and is pursing Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing in the future . Samantha is passionate about animals large and small and is always ready to lend a hand . At homes Samantha spend time with her family and fur babies .

Kathleen Helgans

Kathleen Helgans

Kathleen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Pre Veterinary Medicine from the University of Rhode Island , United States . Kathleen joined Greencross in 2019 and is deeply passionate about animal care , driven by a lifelong love for animals and their wellbeing . Outside of work , she cherishes time with her husband , son and fur babies , Rocket (Kelpie ) and Roo ( Aussie Shepherd cross ) going to the beach and forest walks .

Allison McNeill

Allison McNeill

Allison joined Greencross 2022 and is currently studying Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing . Allison has a love for animals great and small and enjoys being part of a of a mixed animal practice. At home Allison is kept busy with her husband , 2 children and her 3 dogs Brocky , Nacho and Indie and Narla the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo .

Dr Emily Bull

Dr Emily Bull

Emily , is a mixed practice veterinarian with 14 years experience with a diverse range of experience with small and large animals . Emily has worked in some very remote part of Australia for the last 8 years of her career, most notably in remote communities around Alice Springs . Emily has a wonderful family , her husband , 2 daughters , 2 dogs , 1 cat , 3 horses , 3 cows and 5 chooks and live in Clayton Bay SA .

Bethany Pietzsch

Bethany is a qualified Veterinary Nurse , who is passionate with all pets large and small . Bethany is pet owner of three dogs, one horse, a turtle, 5 fish, half a cow (long story!) and 1000 sheep 🙂

Dr Sarah Clark

Dr Sarah Clark

Sarah is a graduate from James Cook University Townsville . Sarah has a Alaskan Malamute called Katana and Kronk a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy who she loves to do training with.
She loves working with both small and large animals but has an interest in canine and feline behaviour. Outside of work, Sarah spends her time on the Murray River, reading or sewing.

Kathryn started with Greencross 2018 via the Greencross Nurse internship course and completed the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing . Kathryn has a keen interest in all animals from small pets to farm production animals .

Mardi Haynes

Veterinary Nurse

Mardi is one of our valued, fully qualified Certificate IV vet nurses and this Greencross Vets clinic. She grew up on her family farm in a small country town called Peake. Over the years she had many pets including dogs, cats, rats, kangaroos, sheep, horses, cows, magpies, chickens and goats. She also studied Ecotourism at Flinders University and enjoys sharing many outdoor activities with her husband and two children. She has 5 fur babies: Codie, the border collie, Luna and Mercury, the rescue cats and 2 spoiled rat boys called Luke and Bert.

Nikki Gordon

Veterinary Nurse

Nikki has worked in the veterinary industry since 2002, working in Riverland before joining us at Strathalbyn in 2015. She brings a wealth of experience to our team, having completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2021. Outside of work Nikki is kept busy with her two kids, Great Dane Ella, Kelpie Reiko, and their large team of show horses. On the weekends you will Nikki at horse shows, at the stables with racehorses or marketing/making her handmade browbands and other show accessories.

Dr Ross Lockwood

Dr Ross Lockwood

Ross is our senior vet and has been with the Strathalbyn Vet Clinic for 20 years now. He has over 25 years experience including some time as a flying vet in the Northern Territory, large animal practice in NSW and mixed dairy practice in Northern Victoria. He has a keen interest in small animal medicine and dermatology and has completed post graduate training in small animal internal medicine, dermatology, feline medicine, small animal endocrinology and emergency medicine. His other interests include gardening, reading, squash and hiking.

Kaya Moyse

Kaya Moyse

Kaya is a qualified vet nurse and has worked in the industry for 18years with large and small animals. She loves helping and caring for all the wonderful pets and really enjoys the ever changing needs that present in the vet clinic. Her special interests are dentistry and reptiles. At home she has 11 cats, 3 horses, goanna, birds, her crazy dog “Lily” and her two teenage sons Ben and Tim. In her free time Kaya enjoys trail riding on her great horses.
