Dr Carol Mayes
Dr Carol Mayes
Carol has worked at this clinic since 2006 and has strong emotional ties to this veterinary practice due to the wonderful clients and pets she has met over the years. Some of these pets are our special oldies that were puppies and kittens when she first started working here. Providing care to “oldies” is a particular favourite of Carol’s.
She is also passionate about pet emotional wellbeing as well as their physical health. As a team, we do everything we can to make the experience of the veterinary clinic as gentle and fear-free as possible. Over time, this concern about pets mental health and wellbeing has expanded to concern about how they are coping at home so she has started doing extra study in veterinary behaviour.
Carol and Matt have 2 sons, Finn and Austin, 2 whippets, Circe (her own fragile oldie) and Juno, as well as a cat who was originally a Mount Barker stray brought in to the vet clinic, called Billy.
She enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, medicine, surgery and dentistry and looks forward to meeting you and your pets.
