Meet The Team
Dr Jairo Rivera
Dr Jairo Rivera
Dr. Rivera was born in Medellin, Colombia and completed his DVM at the University of Caldas. Following graduation, he completed 3 GradDip in Diagnostic Imaging (radiology, ultrasound, CT & MRI). Then he went to Spain and obtained his first PhD in Animal Surgery & Medicine at the University of Leon and was awarded Summa Cum Laude and patented a bone graft. Dr. Rivera also worked as A/professor of radiology, surgery and internal medicine for seven years and then made a career shift and moved to Australia. He completed another PhD in Microbiology & Marine Biology at James Cook University and a postdoc in pest control at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies and the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS). Jairo developed several methods to control Crown-of-thorns starfish and was awarded the JCU TropEco award for outstanding research. He received his ECFVG certification in 2017 and moved to the U.S. to work with Banfield. Dr. Rivera is our Veterinary Director at Greencross Vets and spends his free time traveling with his family, and loves underwater photography, diving and playing soccer
Ebony joins Greencross West Gosford as a Veterinary Nurse. Ebony has over four years experience in small animal emergency and critical care and her qualifications are a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, a Certificate III in Captive Animal Management (for all those exotic pets) and a Certificate II in Animal Studies. She is also currently studying a Bachelor of Zoology via correspondence. Ebony lives in Newcastle with her recently adopted senior Burmese cat Rosie, and has a second cat Yoda that lives with her family. She currently runs her own business in her spare time. She is very dedicated and passionate about animal care always caring for animals as if they were her own and is looking forward to getting to know all the new clients and patients.
Danielle is the Practice Manager at Greencross West Gosford. Danielle has her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is a Licenced Microchip Implanter with over 12 years veterinary nursing experience. She has a special interest in Dentistry and pet dental health. Danielle has lived on the Central Coast all her life with her Husband and two beautiful children as well as her cat, Marley, Greyhound, Merlin and Jack Russell X, Scruffy. Danielle has a strong passion for not only her patient’s health and wellbeing but also part of her client’s lives.
