Stephanie Bluff

Veterinary Nurse
Stephanie is a Veterinary Nurse and works at our Fairy Meadow and Woonona-Bulli practices. She has been nursing since 2011.
Stef is passionate about your pets care and will go above and beyond to make sure you go home feeling reassured and looked after for during your pets time at the vet. Stef has a cheeky Miniature Schnauzer at home called Sherlock. When Stef is not at work, she likes being at the beach with her little boy Ejder and her partner Sam.

April Hall-Wheeler

Veterinary Nurse
April started her Veterinary Nursing Certificate with Greencross Vets in 2018. She has now completed her training and holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing qualification. April has always had a passion for animals, but only recently decided that this was the career path for her. She is loving every moment and looks forward to meeting you and your pets. April has a Labrador at home, as well as two cats.

Abbey Hawes

Abbey started with the Greencross south coast family in 2015 whilst still at school. She completed a school based traineeship at Fairy Meadow before starting as a veterinary nurse with us in 2016. Abbey completed her Cert IV certificate this year. Abbey is also a trained puppy preschool / behavior trainer and facilitates our classes at Greencross Woonona Bulli. She has two pets, bearded dragon named Rango and a cocker spaniel named Jagger

Sarah Walsh

Sarah is a Trainee Vet Nurse at Fairy Meadow and Woonona-Bulli Clinics. She loves all animals that come into our care and has a special interest in wildlife and exotics. She has a beautiful greyhound called Joey at home whom she recently rescued.

Des Kelsall

Des has been with our team for nearly 30 years and loves greeting our clients at our Woonona-Bulli Clinic. Over the years Des has built a strong relationship with many of our clients and their pets. Des is very committed to animal welfare and is passionate about cat rescue. Outside of work, Des loves spending time with her family and friends and also enjoys jazz ballet, tap dancing, yoga, beach therapy and theater.

Dr Julie Waring

Julie graduated from Queensland University, and has worked in many practices both large and small, in Queensland, Victoria, ACT and NSW. She has been in Wollongong since 1997, and enjoys internal medicine cases.She has 2 adult children, a scientist husband  who exercises a lot , and a young Irish Wolfhound Cuinn. She swims regularly and walks a lot!

Dr Luke Michel

Luke grew up in Southern Sydney and studied Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney where he graduated with first class honours in 2003 and then took his first job at the Wollongong Veterinary Hospital. In 2011, he became part owner and Veterinary Director in charge of Veterinary hospitals at Greencross Vets Fairy Meadow, Woonona Bulli and now in Campbelltown. This group employs over 40 staff including 13 vets. He is also part of the Vet Advisory Board for Greencross Vets that has over 100 Veterinary hospitals Australia wide. Luke has a special interest in Small Animal Medicine and has completed further education and qualifications in this area with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. He’s also completed his Certificate IV in Training, Assessment and Education and has just started his Diploma of Management. Luke lives in Wollongong with his wife Karli and 3 daughters – Olivia, Molly and Emily and his cat Henry who is his only male support in the house. He enjoys playing, watching and talking about sport, especially AFL, Soccer and Cricket and is trying to brainwash his girls into following them as well.

Sheridan Thomas

After doing a term of Cert II at Yallah TAFE ,Sheridan started training at Greencross vets as a trainee at our Fairy Meadow branch in 2014. She would work one day a week as a placement student during year 11 & 12 while finishing off her HSC. Once graduated from high school and finishing Cert II animal studies she went on to study Cert IV in veterinary nursing through the Greencross training platform AIRC . From there, Sheridan went on to take a roll as veterinary nurse across 3 of our south coast clinics, based mostly at Warilla- Shellcove and occasionally at Woonona-Bulli & Fairy Meadow. Additional to vet nursing, Sheridan runs her own small house & pet sitting business and lives at home with her cheeky Beagle dog Ajax, Cockatiel Kerry and a few chooks! Whenever she isn’t working, Sheridan enjoys getting outdoors to go on bushwalks & traveling to new countries

Lauren Coussens

Lauren qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2001 and has been nursing ever since. She joined the team at Fairy Meadow in 2015 and is now Practice Manager for our Fairy Meadow, Woonona-Bulli and Warilla-Shellcove Clinics. Her favourite nursing role is assisting the vets with surgery and is slightly crazy about cats! She has 3 black cats at home – Cino, Luna and Harry, a German Shepherd, Toby and an Indian Ringneck Parrot called Ringo. She loves spending time with her husband Brad and daughter Scarlett.

Rebecca Robey

Dr Rebecca Robey BVSc (Hons I), BSc (Zoology)/BA (Indonesian) has been working at Greencross Fairy Meadow since 2015, but has been in the veterinary industry for over 20 years! Rebecca has a strong interest in emergency medicine, surgery and ultrasonography having completed continuing education courses in each field. Dr. Robey is also very passionate and experienced in treating wildlife and unusual pets and can occasionally be found working as a veterinarian at Taronga Zoo. Rebecca enjoys looking after all creatures great and small from dogs and cats to rabbits, rodents and reptiles! During her precious spare time, Beck enjoys the beach with her 2 and 4 legged family. She is also passionately involved with charities in Australia including WIRES and AMRRIC, as well as helping endangered wildlife in Borneo and volunteering overseas with Vets-Beyond-Borders.

Dr Ashley Sykes

Ashley graduated in the UK in 2011 and has recently come to work at Green Cross Vets. Back in the UK he had snakes, rabbits, fish and a cat. He has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery as well as an in exotic and pocket pets. In his own time he is a keen photographer.
