Here at Greencross Vets Woonona-Bulli, we offer a comprehensive range of professional veterinary services to cater for all your pet needs, ranging from preventative health care to weight loss programs through to surgery and diagnostic medicine.

Our team is committed to offering you and your pet’s exceptional service, and the very best in veterinary medicine and preventative health care.

Together with our South Coast sister practices, we offer a 24 Hour Emergency Service which is available by phoning 4283 2333. This service operates out of Greencross Vets Fairy Meadow.

Desexing

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.

Vaccinations

Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm can be hard to detect, but it needn’t be hard to prevent. Greencross Vets recommends year round heartworm prevention. Ask your vet about prevention today.

Dentistry

Greencross Vets offer a range of dentistry services like cat and dog teeth cleaning. Consider us your pet’s veterinarian and dentist combined.

Puppy Pre-School

Greencross Vets Puppy School is an excellent starting point for owners wanting a well-managed and socialised pet. Courses run for four to six weeks. Click to learn more.

Clinical Pathology

Clinical pathology allows our vets to analyse and diagnose health conditions. Common laboratory tests include blood tests, urinalysis, faecal tests and biopsy examination.

April Hall-Wheeler

April Hall-Wheeler

Veterinary Nurse
April started her Veterinary Nursing Certificate with Greencross Vets in 2018. She has now completed her training and holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing qualification. April has always had a passion for animals, but only recently decided that this was the career path for her. She is loving every moment and looks forward to meeting you and your pets. April has a Labrador at home, as well as two cats.

Abbey Hawes

Abbey Hawes

Abbey started with the Greencross south coast family in 2015 whilst still at school. She completed a school based traineeship at Fairy Meadow before starting as a veterinary nurse with us in 2016. Abbey completed her Cert IV certificate this year. Abbey is also a trained puppy preschool / behavior trainer and facilitates our classes at Greencross Woonona Bulli. She has two pets, bearded dragon named Rango and a cocker spaniel named Jagger

Sarah Walsh

Sarah Walsh

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Sarah has been with our team for over four years and has her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing. She loves all animals that come into the hospital but has a keen interest in wildlife and exotics. Professionally, Sarah enjoys all aspects of nursing but is particularly interested in pathology and medical nursing. Sarah enjoys and is always open to every opportunity to further develop her skills.

At home, Sarah lives with her super cute border collie, Beau.

Des Kelsall

Des Kelsall

Des has been with our team for nearly 30 years and loves greeting our clients at our Woonona-Bulli Clinic. Over the years Des has built a strong relationship with many of our clients and their pets. Des is very committed to animal welfare and is passionate about cat rescue. Outside of work, Des loves spending time with her family and friends and also enjoys jazz ballet, tap dancing, yoga, beach therapy and theater.

Dr Luke Michel

Veterinary Director

Luke grew up in Southern Sydney and studied Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney where he graduated with first class honours in 2003 and then took his first job at the Wollongong Veterinary Hospital. In 2011, he became part owner and Veterinary Director for Greencross Vets Fairy Meadow. He is also part of the Vet Advisory Board for Greencross Vets that has over 100 Veterinary hospitals Australia wide.

Luke has a special interest in Small Animal Medicine and has completed further education and qualifications in this area with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. He’s also completed his Certificate IV in Training, Assessment and Education and has his Diploma of Management. Luke lives in Wollongong with his wife Karli and three daughters – Olivia, Molly and Emily, sweet little Rey, his foxy X and his cat Henry who is his only male support in the house. He enjoys playing, watching and talking about sport, especially AFL, Soccer and Cricket and is trying to brainwash his girls into following them as well.

Dr Julie Waring

Julie graduated from Queensland University, and has worked in many practices both large and small, in Queensland, Victoria, ACT and NSW. She has been in Wollongong since 1997, and enjoys internal medicine cases.She has 2 adult children, a scientist husband  who exercises a lot , and a young Irish Wolfhound Cuinn. She swims regularly and walks a lot!

Practice Manager

Lauren has been our Practice manager here at Greencross Fairy Meadow and Woonona-Bulli since 2018, she holds a Certificate IV Qualified Nurse and has been working in the veterinary industry for two decades.
At home, Lauren has a German shepherd named Bruce, two domestic short haired cats, Harry and Luna and a Ringneck parrot named Ringo. She also has two human babies named Scarlett and Spencer. Lauren loves hanging out with her pets and family when she is not managing our clinics.

Rebecca Robey

Rebecca Robey

Dr Rebecca Robey BVSc (Hons I), BSc (Zoology)/BA (Indonesian) has been working at Greencross Fairy Meadow since 2015, but has been in the veterinary industry for over 20 years! Rebecca has a strong interest in emergency medicine, surgery and ultrasonography having completed continuing education courses in each field. Dr. Robey is also very passionate and experienced in treating wildlife and unusual pets and can occasionally be found working as a veterinarian at Taronga Zoo. Rebecca enjoys looking after all creatures great and small from dogs and cats to rabbits, rodents and reptiles! During her precious spare time, Beck enjoys the beach with her 2 and 4 legged family. She is also passionately involved with charities in Australia including WIRES and AMRRIC, as well as helping endangered wildlife in Borneo and volunteering overseas with Vets-Beyond-Borders.

Ashley graduated in the UK in 2011 and has recently come to work at Green Cross Vets. Back in the UK he had snakes, rabbits, fish and a cat. He has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery as well as an in exotic and pocket pets. In his own time he is a keen photographer.

Dr Joe Lee

Veterinarian

Joe grew up in New Zealand and graduated from Massey University in 2011. Since then, he has worked in New Zealand and the UK before making his big move to the Gong. Joe is interested in all aspects of dogs and cats health.

When he is not caring for animals, he loves to watch sport and play a bit of golf.
