Veterinary Director Dr James Holder and his team are delighted to welcome you to our newly renovated practice. Located conveniently on the busy Stirling Highway (just 600m down the road from City Farmers), we offer a comprehensive range of professional veterinary services to cater for all your pet care needs, ranging from preventative health care and weight loss programs through to diagnostic imaging and orthopedic surgery.

We are committed to offering you and your pet exceptional service and the very best in veterinary medicine.

Our team are passionate about developing well-mannered family friendly dogs and our Best Behaviour program will give you the tools to train your dog in basic manners.

Getting your pet desexed (neutered or spayed) is essential to their health. All Greencross Vets facilities are completely sterile and use the latest in surgical equipment.


Prevention is the best medicine. Kitten and puppy vaccinations (injections) and adult pet vaccinations prevent disease. Get your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date.

Heartworm Prevention

Dr James Holder

Dr James Holder

Veterinary Director

James has extensive experience in the veterinary industry, graduating from the University of Bristol (UK) in 1998. After working in a number of small animal practices throughout England, James made the exciting move to Shanghai, China in 2002 where he has managed two clinics. During this time he worked as the Medical Directory for Second Chance Animal Aid (SCAA), a private non-profit organisation committed to protecting and improving the health and welfare of companion animals through education, healthcare, advocacy, outreach, adoption and the promotion of foster care as an alternative approach to traditional shelters. At the end of 2013, he and his family moved to Perth, where he is able to continue his interest in all aspects of veterinary practice particularly ophthalmology, preventative healthcare, orthopaedics and behaviour. When he’s not in the clinic, yo willl find him playing rugby for UWA, going to Fame Trivia quizzes, walking Apollo and enjoying the beaches of WA.

Veterinary Associate

Born and raised in Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland, Ally attended university in Glasgow and graduated in 2017.
Ally worked in a mixed practice in the Highlands of Scotland for a couple of years before he, his wife Katie and terrier Mabel packed up and decided to travel Australia.
After falling in love with Perth they decided to make the move permanent and arrived back in April 2020.
Outside of work Ally can be found watching his beloved Aberdeen FC or enjoying everything WA has to offer.

Dr Christabel graduated from Murdoch University in 2018 and was awarded the Charles & Elaine Schug Memorial Prize in Wildlife Medicine. She did lots of wildlife work while she was studying at university but has taken a special interest in cats. Christabel started her first job at SPCA Singapore and was the first and only full time shelter veterinarian in the country! When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her 2 cats (Soju and Meesha), going camping with long walks by the river, hiking and cooking.

Practice Manager

Having moved to Australia 7 years ago, Harriet embarked on a career in the veterinary industry, qualifying as a Registered Vet Nurse. She has been working as the Practice Manager alongside Dr James Holder and the team at Greencross for 3 years. She has a love for animals big or small with a special fondness for Terriers, sparked by the love of her childhood Border Terrier, Harley.

Doreen Kreipe

Doreen Kreipe

Doreen came to Australia 11 years ago for a holiday and never looked back. Now a qualified vet nurse, Doreen has always had a love for anything animal related having grown up in the countryside in the UK and owning goats, dogs, rabbits, and rats. In her free time, she makes the most of the outdoors by surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, mountain biking or hiking with her dogs.

Veterinary Nurse

We first met Tianna as a Vet Nursing student in 2019 and after graduating later that year she became apart of our team. Tianna has a special interest with exotics and is planning to study more in that area. Tianna loves to surround herself with animals at work and at home with her 2 rats Ian and Spoon her dog Francis and 5 king quails.

Ellie Eastwood

Ellie Eastwood

Ellie is our senior pet stylist and veterinary nurse. We welcomed her to our team on opening in 2016.

Her journey into the veterinary industry commenced in 2006. Since then she has qualified as veterinary nurse as well as unleashing her creative side by branching out into the world of pet grooming. Ellie finds much joy in the styling and maintenance of dogs. She has a keen eye for attention to detail and a gentle, calming nature towards the animals in her care. She will work with each client individually to ensure your pet looks the way you envision and love.
We thoroughly enjoy having Ellie as a valued member of our team.

Abby McGougan

Abby McGougan

Abby, our Senior Veterinary Nurse, has been part of the Greencross family for 6 years and has been with the Nedlands team since March 2017. Abby’s passion for wildlife and conservation led her to veterinary nursing and can often be found rearing a feathered friend. In her spare time Abby enjoys travelling and scuba diving.
