Kira was born and raised in Denmark, a small country town south of Perth.
She came to Perth to study Veterinary medicine and never left! She has always loved animals and loved growing up in a rural area surrounded by farm animals.
She started studying animal science at Murdoch University and transitioned into veterinary medicine soon after, graduating from Murdoch in 2015.
She loves helping animals and their humans alike to better their lives with treatment and love.
Her parents currently run a small farm in Denmark as well as working in the town. They run cattle, have some chickens and a lovely young Border Collie named ‘Phoenix’ to keep them on their toes.
In her spare time she is involved in basketball (coaching, umpiring and playing), and when she was younger she even traveled interstate for national interschool basketball tournament multiple times as a player and coach.
She was a member of the Murdoch champion intercollege meat judging team during her studies; she trained and led cattle in the royal show for Murdoch for a number of years.
She enjoys relaxing with family and friends at home cooking and trying new foods.
Started out managing the boarding department at Cat Haven then took over managing their clinic, after 5 years progressed into emergency practices. First time in General practice but enjoy the management side and continue to do emergency work on the weekends.
