Canine Vaccination

Vaccinations and your canine companion

To safeguard your canine companion from fatal diseases, Greencross Vets recommends a preventative health care program for every pet. Vaccinations are an important part of any pet’s healthcare plan. If your pet needs a vaccination, it’s vital that you arrange an appointment with your local vet.

Why would my dog need a vaccination?

Like they say, ‘prevention is better than cure’. It’s no different with the diseases that can affect dogs. Most of the diseases that can be contracted by pets have no targeted cure. Where treatments are available, they can be prolonged or even unsuccessful.

Maintaining your dog’s vaccination program will help to ensure that your canine companion stays safe and continues to be protected from diseases like parvovirus, distemper, canine cough, and hepatitis.

During your visit with us, there will be time to discuss any other health care matters that are of concern, such as diet and nutrition, heartworm prevention, intestinal worming, flea and tick prevention, skin care, behaviour and dental health.

To determine whether your dog is up-to-date with necessary vaccinations, contact your local Greencross Vets for advice.
